✨New Art//Sophie (Keeper of the Lost Cities Commission)
Added 2024-08-13 17:06:34 +0000 UTCHello hello! It is finally time that I can reveal to you some character portraits I've been working on for the lovely author Shannon Messenger for her series, Keepers of the Lost Cities.
Here is our main girl Sophie! She was raised by humans in the modern world but finds out that she is actually an elf and belongs in the hidden elven world! Not only is she an elf but she was created as part of "project moonlark," and is one of the most powerful elves their world has ever seen. While trying to save the world with her friends, she also navigates adjusting to this new reality, going to school, and balancing friendships and crushes! It's a fun ride!
Some adjustments to her facial features had to be made towards the end of this portrait that the publisher wanted and you can see some of the other versions if you scroll through. I do like how she turned out though! ;)

Since this is a commercial commission, I can't include all of the downloadable files that I normally would, but I put together some of the sketch images and iterations so you can see the progress. 📸✏️

I started reading the series when I worked on a commission for them a couple of years ago, and I love it even though it's meant for a younger audience than me. It was fun to work on the characters for it!
