Speedpaint Timelapse with Music of The Pale Elf for Patrons

After my little color experiment with the Shadowheart portrait, I couldn't help myself. I had to do an Astarion portrait, and it is the perfect time of year for him. We started this piece live on stream and it all flowed quite well luckily. Sometimes I get a little nervous about starting sketches from zero on stream because my sketches are so messy and it can take a little work to get them looking like anything at all.
But sometimes it all works out in good time, as this piece did. For the rendering, I have been trying t hold myself back from being to nitpicky. One of my goals is to live some messy grittyness to my works and not overly polish. It is easy to accidentally overpolish and render, and then things start looking kind of dead and digital to me. Leaving a bit of the messy brush stroaks and pen scratches makes it look a little more organic and traditional in my view.
But anyway, I like how this piece turned out. I'm really learning to love color schemes that are mostly desaturated with a pop of either red or orange. I think they look really eerie and interesting!
