✨ Art//Autumn Equinox
Added 2024-11-10 21:08:34 +0000 UTCAs the wheel of the year turns towards the golden and orange days of fall, daylight and night come into perfect balance at the autumn equinox, known as Mabon. A crispness creeps into the air, and the crunch of fallen leaves signal its arrival. It is a time for gathering the harvest, gratitude, and preparation for the sleepy winter months ahead.
🍁Even though I totally missed the fall equinox (it was September 22nd), I still wanted to create a fall equinox themed piece. I tried to give it similarities to the Spring equinox piece, so I incorporated the dark background and the half sun in the background, symbolising equal time for night and day.
In the Spring Equinox piece, rabbits were featured, and so in this one, I felt like the fox felt very autumnal. Maybe it's just the orange color that suits autumn so well. And the flowers that once surrounded the character in spring are now withering to the coming cold weather as orange leaves fall around.
The character in Autumn is dressed in breeches rather than a dress since I have always viewed autumn as a productive time for work—a time to refresh and get back to work on our goals. (Maybe I just see it that way because it's back-to-school season.)
