Occassionally I enjoy jumping into grayscale artworks! I think there is a bit of a different mood to black and white art that I really love. You'll see in the video that I did start with a tiny bit of color but then quickly decided to switch to grayscale because it was much closer to what I envisioned.
Of course there is a tiny bit of color in the piece! I started out with creating a big dripping red circle above them, but decided that I didn't like it and so then was left to try and figure out what would be above/around them and what the pops of color would be.
As I started sprinkling some stars around later in the process, I began imagining a sort of wolf constillation and then that just turned into a wolf design behind them, which is closely tied to Solas, the male character. Tying them together, the inquisitor, the female character, has a magic or spirit hand and arm that is the same color as the outlines of the wolf.
Anyhoo, this piece isn't EXACTLY how I pictured it when I first started drawing but I like the journey it took me on and where we ended up! I hope you guys like it too! Happy watching.
