Tread with caution as we step into a realm of mystery, magic, and faerie folk for the months of February and March! Through February and March, we embark on the quest of uniting 'Faebruary' and 'March of the Fairies!' This two-month challenge gives us ample time to explore some themes of the 'unseen world' of fae folk and magic.
🌟Create some FaeFolk-themed artwork based on the prompts that inspire you/
You can choose to do all of the prompts, entering the challenge with many drawings, or only one or two, depending on what you have time for!
You can even combine a couple of prompts into one artwork if that strikes your fancy!
You may work in any medium, and your entries can be sketches or fully finished illustrations as long as they are fae-folk/or fairy-themed and related to one of the prompts.
Your fae folk can be anything from winged, beautiful and sparkly, to dark, creepy, and creaturesque! The direction you want to take your fairies is up to you and what kind of folklore inspires you!
🗓Official Deadline: End of March (though if you are reading this in the future, you can still feel free to participate and share)
💓You can Share your Works in Progress and your challenge results in the discord channels: #challenge-wip and #challenge-results (include your social media username if you'd like me to post your result to my stories!)
💓If you post on social media, feel free to tag me if you'd like me to share in my Instagram stories! And use the standard hashtags: #faebruary and #marchofthefairies
The label of fairy has at times applied only to specific magical creatures with human appearance, magical powers, and a penchant for trickery. At other times it has been used to describe any magical creature, such as goblins and gnomes. Fairy has at times been used as an adjective, with a meaning equivalent to "enchanted" or "magical".
✨Fairy Types🧚♀️Here is the most comprehensive list of types of fairies or "little folk" that I could find. It may not have every single mythical fae folk that exists, BUT it is a helpful page to look through because it has a lot!

I always struggle with the month-long challenges that are too rigid, so if you are like me, this more flexible option with 2 months to work on prompts should hopefully be more manageable! I'm so excited to see your faefolk-themed work over February and March!
💖Good luck everyone and happy drawing!💖
