✏️ what shall we learn next?✏️ March Tutorial Suggestions!

Hello hello! I am currently buried in work cleaning out my apartment in preparation for finishing my move, but while I'm doing that, I thought it would be a good chance to gather some of your desired tutorial topics!

What tutorial topics would you like included for March's Tutorial Vote?

In February we learned CLOTH 2: Drawing Outfits in Different Poses!! This topic actually came from one of your suggestions! So I'm excited to hear what more topics you are interested in learning about in the future! What topics are you struggling with that I can help clear up for you in future tutorials?

For past poll ideas, you can take a look at our last tutorial poll

If you need a refresher on topics we already have tutorials on, check out the TUTORIAL INDEX!

thank you, will check the brushes out!

Thank you Chrissa! I really appreciate that! I swear there must just be something I’m missing or not understanding to struggle so much every time but I can’t quite figure it out. The 3/4 view tutorial would be really helpful though, I’ll try to think of some other ideas that might be useful for more people too 😅 Maybe something about general composition and that whole process? I know that you cover that a bit in your background tutorials but it’s always helpful to know how much of an idea of composition you have going in and how to know if it isn’t working out and what you can do to change it 😊

I have been thinking I would like to redo the 3/4 head tutorial, so I will include that in the upcoming vote and try and put some emphasise on drawing the eyes at that angle. I can't remember exactly what I said in the drawing eyes tutorial, but it might be worth reviewing that one if you haven't already.

Good suggestions! As to your question on blend modes, yes! I do use them. In fact, I have a number of tutorials that show how I use some of them. Check out any of my shading tutorials for my typical shading methods with blendmodes. And also check out any of my full illustration walkthrough tutorials to see even more how I use other blend modes.

I use procreate on the ipad since it isn't subscription, but I do tend to prefer working in clip studio paint because it has more options. As far as blending is concerned, there are some brushes that can help. The Smooth_blend brush in my procreate brush pack is a procreate brush that I created to try and mimic my favorite blend brush in clip studio paint. If you haven't given it a try, download it from this patreon page and see if it helps at all.

I'm guessing you mean like rendering the metal of armor? We do have some designing dnd style fantasy armor tutorials if you haven't checked them out, but they are about the design part, not the rendering part.

Sorry I’m late to this! Anything from the last tutorial list is helpful but I’m currently tearing my hair out in frustration over a very specific thing I’ve always found difficult (it’s probably just me tbh😅). I think I understand the anatomy of eyes but for the life of me I can never seem to get that far away eye in a 3/4 view to look right and in perspective and 3D. It always ends up looking flat like it’s plastered on the face and not set into it and at an angle. I know you’ve done anatomy tutorials before and covered that briefly in your 3/4 head tutorial but if you have any further tips to offer and think you could somehow string this problem out into a full video I would be grateful 😅😊🩵

Your workflow ! ✨How do you make your stickers, your prints ? (Diamond art?) What equipment do you use on a daily basis ? To stream, film yourself, to produce videos..?

Sowa_draw

I'd love to see a tutorial on jewels or jewelery, and how not to make the details disappear on these small items. The same idea but with fabrics such as lace, sheer etc. would also be amazing! Also I'd love to know your opinion on blend modes, and if or when you use them in your art. <3

Viri

I would love to learn how to give things a shimmery effect (skin, clothes, etc) digitally.

Megan S.

Male body types & beards!!

junidraws_

Thinking the Procreate Process or perhaps telling a story through your art or learning to draw the same character again and again.

Elizabeth Prats

Creating a T-shirt-friendly design from an existing illustration - I'd love to learn more about that, if possible.

NatkaNMT

I'd love a tutorial on SFW intimacy! Like passionate kissing, bear hugging, loving poses etc <3

KallyKatt

I’m have a tough time choosing between procreate or clip studio paint on the iPad. Do you have any opinions on it? I feel I struggle blending on procreate and clip studio is easy.

bulbazuya

Looking at a gift art I’m working on, I’d love to see armor tutorials at some point

Antonio Tyler

+1 to this!

Alex

From the last poll, I'd love to see male body types, short hair, beards and grey scale pictures. 🩵

V, the librarian

I would like a short hairstyles tutorial cause are such a pain to learn, at least for me 🥲

Weronika Struzynska

Maybe a tutorial about drawing scars? I often have the problem that the scars I draw don't look "organic" in the picture....
