Apollo, struck by Cupid's arrow, fell deeply in love with the nymph Daphne. Repulsed by him, she fled as the god of the sun relentlessly pursued her. In her desperation to escape his advances, she prayed to her father, the river god Peneus, for help. Just as Apollo reaches her, her father transforms Daphne into a tree to escape Apollo's clutches.

Oh boy, what a myth. Most Greek myths are pretty dark, and this is a fascinating one. On one hand, you go girl, better to be a tree. But on the other hand, it is a sad and scary myth that Daphne had to give up her life as a nymph in order to escape Apollo's pursuit.

I felt like it was the perfect myth to practice storytelling and use for our upcoming Storytelling in Illustration tutorial! Now that the demo is all done and filmed, I'm moving on to the rest of ther writing, voiceover, lecture and editing! Keep an eye out for the tutorial sometime next week! I think it's gonna be a good one!
