I don't know about you, but in my art journey, I keep expecting that my process will get faster and I'll be able to whip out art pieces quicker and quicker! But that hasn't exactly happened. In fact, I think one thing that has helped me level up in the past has been learning to be patient enough with my work to take the time to fix mistakes and add detail. But there's still that yearning for a quicker art process. ..
This piece wasn't any quicker than normal, but it could have taken a lot longer. I purposely forced myself to let my rendering stay loose. I let myself leave the brushstrokes and sketchy scribbles in the areas. I tried to embrace this sort of artsy messiness. There are aspects about leaving the mess that I kind of like, but it is a struggle fighting against that part of me that feels like I HAVE to clean everything up. But this is ART! You don't HAVE to do anything! ;)
