B’s journal BKFC Albuquerque
Added 2025-02-28 15:24:26 +0000 UTCHey guys let’s kick it off with BKFC.
Bekhzod Usmanov
Give me youth and durability here. Last fight many were excited to fade Richardson after a horrific knockout just one fight prior. That fight ended so short we didn’t get to see Richardsons chin tested. Usmanov lives/trains in ABQ at altitude which should serve him well here. He hits hard, way younger, moves really well. Think this is a showcase spot here. Richardson is very very good so no layup by any means but I think Usmanov kos him.
Donald Sanchez
Sanchez is a very fast, very powerful BK fighter, and only getting better. Aiken has awful tape. I expect this one to be massively one sided for Donald in his home town.
Felipe Chavez
Another local ABQ guy that lives and trains at altitude. Findlay tends to slow and has pretty low volume. I expect Chavez to push a big pace and dirty box often. I think this will be and extremely competitive fight. Big step up for Chavez here. Nice dog, but tread light.
Eric Dodson
Never been much a fan of his but he’s fighting a wounded soldier. Van Vo is actually decent, he’s just so slow, old and banged up. Eric should cruise here. Way faster and more powerful. Only concern is a death gas but not sure Vo has enough in his tank to exploit it.
Derek Perez
Fading shit with shit is never fun, but Perez has hung in with/beat much higher level comp. Typically has shown durability and decent enough cardio for the wars he’s been in. Livingston goes down right away in almost every fight. Layup for Perez if he takes it serious.
Murat Kilimetov
Really clean powerful puncher. Another ABQ guy, fighting Stafford who trains in his garage. Stafford went life and death with Mota who is bottom of the barrel. Bad cardio and no defense, Murat should impress here.
Bill Albrecht
Big liability here with Albrecht chin and age, but fields is so old and awful. Albrecht much more composed. If he can eat a couple should should be one of the easiest fights of the night. If he can’t… well…. Maybe not a great price on him here, but he should win
Zay Garcia
Don’t love this one here. Zay not very good and such a massive favorite over a guy with tons of BK experience. 2 things I like is Garcias toughness and his cardio. Only reason I think he wins here. He eats a lot of punches clean, which is Martinez only prayer, and if this is at sea level I’m probably playing him here, but Garcia having a competitive fight with Gutierrez was impressive. That pace will drain Martinez, especially at elevation.
Jay Jackson
He should win here, and win easily. He’s got a great chin, powerful puncher, and give McElroy 10 minutes to not die is a tough task. Something does feel weird about this one though. Not in a rush to play Jackson -300 although if he wins it will look massively obvious in hindsight
Coca/Arroyo
This fight is a mess. Both had awful debuts, both old, both bad. Guess I’m leaning coca here as hometown guy every though arroyo looks better on tape to me. If you’re smart, just pass.
Bryant McClain
Hate this one. Eye test is Roderick all day. McClain, slow, fat, old and bad offense. Issue is Roderick kind of admits to throwing fights, and loses in the most hilarious ways. Again, probably a pass spot but I imagine Mccalin gets Roderick to quit late in the fight if he doesn’t get instantly KO’d.
Dodson/Sanchez/Kilimetov
Perez/Albrecht
Garcia/Jackson
Chavez/Usmanov
McClain/Coca
