Alright, today's post will be all about Ahri. Last week, I said I wanted to talk about some general updates to the Palefire project, but I decided to collect some more feedback before that, so let's focus on pretty fox-girl instead.

As promised, my next video is about Ahri from League of Legends and K/DA. (I don't know much about these things, but I know what to do with hot models in Blender, so it's fine.)
Likewise, I didn't have any story script ready for Ahri's video, so I just spent some time pondering various ideas. I am still not sure which way Ahri's story will go, but there was one thing I was certain of.

I was certain that I wanted to see the lake scene where a monster emerges from the water and probes Ahri, properly animated.
That's the scene from Ahri's picture set, the one I made after she won the last character poll, roughly a month or two ago. And that's what I worked on this week.

I have uploaded two shorter videos today. One is called "Ahri - fox and her clam"; it's the main video with the scenes at the lake. Then there is a second video, "Ahri - extras and work-in-progress".
This video contains some of my experiments comparing Blender's Eevee (fast rendering engine) with the painfully slow Cycles raytracing engine, which is usually better.

I think Ahri's face looks better in Cycles, but the render time with such a high-detail girl model is always awful, so that's something I need to think about.
Anyway, I made an "extra" video to see the differences, but I thought some of you might like to see it too, so I uploaded that as well. As always, check your email or pinned post for info/links.

Next week, I will continue working on the lake scene, as the monster in the water could do a lot more stuff. I am still not sure whether this will be the main Ahri's video or just a side-trip, but the scenes look good, so this is a goal worth pursuing.
