But yeah I hope the anime does help improve her character in a way that doesn't over shadow the manga but Akane is definitely gonna be a main focus for the rest of the Season it seems cause she has now a big connection to Aqua and the whole suicide attempt. This episode clearly showed that both the manga and anime won't shy away from the Dark reality that the show expresses and will double down. Honestly again it's the best episode since Ep1.

The episode was in fact crazy and deep it pulled on every heartsting I thought of Etika and a lot of friends I knew the committed suicide it was very deep. I didn't see the suicide hotline in the end sorry. I just had to let all my thoughts out it was so much going through my brain lol

I noticed you didn't see that there was a suicide hotline at the very end of the episode because apparently the whole thing with Akane is based around a true event and its likely she didn't have someone like Aqua who saved her. I am glad Oshi No Ko really takes real events and real situations and puts them in this light and showing the problems and darkside of the biz. Good thing to note, there is a decent chunk of anime original/future manga content about Akane that they put into this episode to highlight her even more cause from a good amount of people that I talk to, who have read the manga all say that Akane has a fanbase but she is actually a mid character and isn't written entirely well and reasons behind it seem to be how she acts and what she kinda becomes after this. However I think the Anime is really improving her by doing the anime original stuff for her and giving more to her character. I think she's a decent character and this was a terrible situation that she had to face but she still is not a fully fledged character and there really isn't a lot to her other than she works hard and doesn't stand out unless it's in a negative space. But I honestly think that is intentional as it makes sense that she doesn't stand out and she doesn't have a ton of character traits other than she works hard atm. Kana for example we saw when she was a brat, then her growing up, then her loving to act again, to now being an Idol and she has a charming personality and generally a multi layered character from the very beginning now. Hopefully the anime does more to add to Akane cause she suffers from not having that many layers in the manga from what i've been told.
