I don't know if it's as bad in America moving from state to state. I only lived in one place my whole life lol I know it's hard getting citizenship from another country though, I've seen many people struggle to get it. And without it, you can't work, own property, etc... I guess you can compare it to Ascendance of A Bookworm in a way.

I'm happy we are getting answers although with the answers I have more questions but everything will make sense soon I know it. I love Main and Lutz's relationship it's so wholesome and they have each other's backs. They are such good friends. Sorry, I mistook Benno for that guy I forgot.

One is the development of Main and Lutz's commercial endeavors under Benno's guidance. Another is Main's new paper-making plan. There's also the potential future development of Main and Lutz's siblings. Lastly, there's the matter of Main's high fever, which we now know might be caused by an illness called "devouring."

2024-06-08 20:39:41 +0000 UTCSince the flashback in the first episode has already informed us that there is magic in this story's world, I can safely tell you that both the "baptism" and the "citizenship" discussed in this episode are related to magic. They are not merely ceremonial or procedural matters but have magical effects on the baptized and registered individuals, with very significant impacts. As for further discussing their specific magical effects, that would involve spoilers, so I'll refrain from that for now. (Additionally, the character who used magic on Main in the first episode is someone else, not Mr. Benno.) Regarding the part in this episode where it's discussed that "the ultimate goal of traveling merchants is citizenship," we cannot assume that "citizenship" is uniform. Just like in reality, if A and B are citizens of different countries, their rights and obligations in different countries will also differ. Furthermore, (I'm not too familiar with state laws in the United States but) in some countries, if you belong to different states/provinces, or even different cities, the rights and obligations can vary. For example, different cities have different health insurance standards; even if you move to another city, you cannot enjoy the local health insurance or other government services unless you transfer your citizenship to the new city. Meanwhile, since you no longer live in your original city, you cannot receive the government services from your original city either.
