You all should know that I've been artistically frustrated these past few weeks. I described it before as burnout but it really has been fight for motivation and a frustration what I'm producing as I strive to get better. I've been been trying to work through the funk, to limited success, but through discussing with others a new project has been taking shape. And while not planned, the one-step-at-a-time approach has been showing results.
Self indulgent, but with the aim of raising my mood, this new character hopes to combine certain elements that I've been enjoying for a while, such as animate-inanimate characters.
They are to be an old man who gets trapped within and subsequently transformed into a rubber raccoon suit. Its a departure from my liminal characters in that their personality isn't being overwritten, nor are they happen with the changes thrust upon them. The project pulls inspiration from many latex and drone fur artists, as well as Hitsuji_Aries on twitter: a Japanese artist who's mainstay is turning old and middle aged men womanly monsters. This all being within the umbrella of a fetish that could be known as body bondage, a fetish centered around people being placed to unique, embarrassing, or immodest bodies typically by accident for the amusement and sexual gratification of others.
