Rubber Raccoon Clarification (please read)

I'm doing something a little different with this project. You may notice that none of what I've posted thus far has my watermark, and that's because I don't consider either of those pictures to be finished.

I usually like for my work to be set in stone so I can move on, but as I'm drawing them, I'd like for us to think of them as series of polished WiPs. Why? Because I'm likely to go back and edit them at a later date, possible to add shading and rubber highlights, as well as other cosmetic edits (I'm happy with how I've been drawing hands).

If you were to look into the source file where I'm drawing these, nothing is has been post scaled, and its all just sort of living on a big loose canvas. Its my hope that in this way I'll feel less caged in by my own expectations and avoid the usual burnout. -One could say that for this project, I'm taking similar cues from how I draw my devils in that I try to ignore the "rules" when drawing them and just try to have fun.

TL;DR

Its not a comic, just Zev making art!

Comments

This kind of framing has helped me try to stay loose, it took a while but I definitely felt the difference over time. I used to get obsessive over *capturing* in totality an idea before, really, it was anything more than nascent wisps of inspiration or novelty. Now I try to keep the engines hot so to speak, don't record everything or sometimes even tune up first. Production begats production, you can always go back but never look back. Aphorisms! but action is better than inaction. Good stuff <3
