I can’t say much about the sharingan without spoiling, but as you’re seeing in this episode, it’s evident that each individuals mangekyo sharingan is capable of its own special ability. Itachi has his own illusionary genjutsu universe where although things are illusions the damage you take is very real. And this here in this episode is kakashi’s ability. Since it’s new to you I’ll let the show explain it.
