A thank you treat

Hi! It’s been ages, I know.

Firstly- I am *for real* going to do a Titanic tutorial for all you pole friends.

Secondly- My sincere gratitude for sticking around while I’ve been absent. I’ve gone through a lot of changes in the past year (or several) and my focus went to recharging and restoring for a lot longer than I expected. The hip injury derailed me more than I thought. Although I am recovered and feel solid now, it has taken quite a lot of time to feel as if I can be confident in training. Much, much longer than I anticipated. Which is funny, because whenever I speak with a dancer who is injured I always say “give yourself compassion, healing takes a long time”. 😅

The both real and internalized pressure to constantly be learning more tricks, becoming more flexible, and constantly advancing got in my head and left me feeling like I wasn’t fit to be a teacher and that I didn’t know enough. I’m still grappling with those feelings but I’m a lot more conscious of how they are affecting me.

In the meantime, as I find my rhythm for moving forward with what I want to share on here, I am in the midst of producing my favorite show ever, Retro Strip Show. It’s been since 2019 that I’ve put on this show, and since then we have gone through a pandemic, I’ve gotten divorced, and am coming back with an almost entirely new band led by my incredible partner, Mike. On a personal note, putting this show together with him is an extremely positive experience for me emotionally. I feel so incredibly confident in what he is doing, I feel his support, and I feel his excitement and joy in doing this project. It’s a very, very nice feeling.

We are doing the show both in person at The Penthouse and also doing a livestream version, which I think is super cool! The future is now! And I’m here to give you a password that unlocks $10 tickets to the livestream. This show has five incredible strippers, four vocalists, a 7 piece band, and a handful more people on the team to make it run smoothly. Our host is my good friend Devin, who is also a stripper, and even our amazing sound tech is a stripper! I feel very surrounded by my favorites and hope you can attend the show in some way.
