Random Poll #6 : Death of the Main Character

[Note - The poll is NOT related to the Wind Calamity fanfic and is more in regards to one of my future projects.]
What are your thoughts about the main character dying mid-way through the story? IF the story is great, would you still continue reading/watching it? As for how the story progresses further, it can be either another character becoming the main character or several side characters becoming the main characters.
I generally give examples, but I don't think I have ever seen a long running anime doing something like this. I guess Game of Thrones is the only one that comes to mind (though I'm not sure we could consider anyone as the main character in the initial part of that story).
Anyway, lemme know your thoughts in the comments.
PS: Please vote under the assumption that the story is excellent and stays excellent even after the character's death. And once again, this poll isn't related to The Wind Calamity.

I don't think anyone would consider Dany and Jon as the MCs in earlier seasons. Most would have consider Rob instead.

2024-05-01 05:09:44 +0000 UTCi dont like the idea of getting invested in a mc and the mc suddenly die and somebody else take is place i find annoying and discoreging to read since for me its like reading the first half of book 1 through and then you have to read the second half of book 2. and not to mention that if u switch mc in the middle of the story and the charecters are to similler it will be pointless to switch and if they are bot similler at all u have to get invested in a completely diffrent charecter again in the middle of a story. so plz dont do that your an amazing writer in my opinion and i want to continue reading and enjoying yout storys so please do not do that
