Version 0.3.1 - development news (updated 01. of October 2021)

The change log below is based on the release 0.3.0.0.
The next main release is 0.3.1 which will be an incremental update for Windows, Linux and Mac. It will include new features and some bug fixes as well.
As of right now, the update from 0.3.0.0 to 0.3.1.0 has:

New features and content
- Yvette gets another appointment at the beach during sunset --> will be posponed to the next release (again, sorry Yvette)
- Desire gets an extended scene at the gym shower --> will be part of 0.3.1.0
- Desire gets an extended workout yoga scene --> will be part of 0.3.1.0
- Alice gets a naughty scene in her room wearing the red lingerie you got her --> will be part of 0.3.1.0
- Alice gets a web search with 6 images (shipendale lingerie) --> will be part of 0.3.1.0

- The new special action (pose butt) has been added for Desire, Faye, Jennifer and Yumiko --> will be part of 0.3.0.1
Minor improvements and changes
- On the achivements of type "special actions", "sextings" and "web search", the number of images seen and the total number is displayed on the image preview, in case you haven't uncovered all the images yet. --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
- The possibility to add additional short sequences when you talk to a girl who's wearing a new outfit for the first time has been added. Sara will be the first to use it. --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
- Sara gets character specific "talk about herself" chat lines --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
- Yumiko's "guess who" game gets 10 additional images --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
- Yumiko's sexting images have been upgraded to 2560x1440 --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
- All the reception sprites have been replaced by high res versions --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
- The first visit to Joy's office has been rewritten and rendered in high quality. There are 4 new images as well. --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
- The girl selection screen (used when visiting or masturbating) can now display up to 23 girls and is auto sized to display 1, 2 or 3 rows --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
- Hovering your mouse over the trophies will now display some details (number of interactions or wins) --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
- Poker trophy will be available --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
- The visit a girl screen will show the information if the girl is in her room or not, provided you have hacked her sub dermal implant to level 3 --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
- Changed the balancing for the hotshots to make the MC undress more --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
- Achievements can be displayed in full screen now --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
- Quick access to tasks and appointment schedule --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
Bug fixes
- When replaying Amy's and Jennifer's talk about arm wrestling event in the night bar, when Yumiko was on night bar duty, she was talking instead of Jennifer --> will be fixed with version 0.3.1.0
- Replaying Yvette's "Plane girl arrival event" was using Aly's event instead, so text and pictures didn't match --> will be fixed with version 0.3.1.0
- When a girl poses her butt at the gym, Jennifer suddenly appears in the picture, even at times she isn't there. --> will be fixed with version 0.3.1.0
- Missing scrollbar has been added for weekly trophies and scrollbar size has been fixed for total trophies --> will be fixed with version 0.3.1.0
- The size calculation in the "Open tasks and quests" app was bugged, so that it could happen that the last open task/quest wasn't shown fully or even wasn't shown at all. --> will be fixed with version 0.3.1.0
- Replaying Amy's event where she tells you she needs to leave the island made her also leave during the replay --> will be fixed with version 0.3.1.0
- Fixed a crash with "Sayer char.talk is not defined" when you talk with Yvette at her room when the towel slips --> will be fixed with version 0.3.1.0
- The cooldown at the lifeguard tower was also triggered when the lifeguard wasn't present --> will be fixed with version 0.3.0.1
- Severe stuttering and lags on some PCs on animations using the animation player. The reason is the added "game time" timer --> will be fixed with version 0.3.0.1
- File "game/actions.rpy", line 1967, in <module> NameError: name 'l_walk_image' is not defined --> will be fixed with version 0.3.0.1
- File "game/loc_pool.rpy", line 565, in <module> NameError: name 'l_inclination' is not defined --> will be fixed with version 0.3.0.1
- Fixed one use of i_char1 instead of i_char that lead to a crash --> will be fixed with version 0.3.0.1
- Corrected some minor things (mainly typos) --> will be fixed with version 0.3.0.1
Is the update going to break save games?:
0.3.1.0 --> Save games from 0.0.8 and later can still be used. Earlier saves are no longer supported.

2021-09-29 04:45:22 +0000 UTCRight now you cannot. I have a selected few people that do the pre beta testing and no additonal ones are needed right now. It's not a means of getting the update a couple fo days earlier. Testing is more like work and the first day is often not much fun and very buggy.

Starting a new game won't be necessary to see the new content, because everything with major changes and new renders will get a reset when you load an old save game. This way you will see what you "have to" do again in order to see all the improved content.

2021-09-26 06:31:02 +0000 UTCThis won't work well having my quality standards in mind. There is a reason you can't see the girls' feet in the overlayed sprites. It's more or less impossible to make them not look like they are floating in the air when you show an overlay sprite on different backgrounds where you can see the area where the feet should touch the ground. There are all kinds of problems. Camera angle, missing/wrong shadows, etc.

Sending a girl off the island can get the same results but is costly. Maybe a gift could be added that all the girls hate, like diet pills or a mop. Giving it to them, they pretend to like it, but then their love and affection go down. Giving it to them a second time makes them stop pretending to like it, and their anger goes up, too.

If you get all of the Wishes and Desires quests before you get the Blue Blazer outfit appointment, you will never be able to get that achievement because Joy will always take the pill and have sex with you. The way it happened for me was, I made the appointment with Joy when no girl on the island had a wish. Joy wore her blue blazer and had sex with me even though I hadn't finished all of the quests. Maybe the solution is to only have Joy take the pill when all quests are done or maybe only when all of Joy's outfits have been seen..

For instance, the girls' sexting or special achievements requires several steps, but sometimes you forget if it's done or not. Putting a "U" for unfinished in the phone thumbnail would let the player know there is more to do without opening the window to check.

Maybe having anger would be a better trigger for some of the bad events than having low scores in other stats. For instance, rather than not being horny, being angry at you might trigger Jessica to get more angry when you put suntan lotion on her side boobs or peep at her in the shower. Right now those events take a lot of planning to get if you don't get them at the beginning of the game. Not really a big deal, just something to think about.

Add a mini quest where the girl says, "I was told that I would take you to the island, but I never got the chance." If she was your planegirl, then she could say, "I wish we could recreate the magic of when we first met on the plane." You would then take her from the private island airport to fly around and back. Afterward, you could also get the planegirl arrival scene. Keep the idea on the back burner, since I'm fine with having a blank in the achievements area. This might allow you to expand the game with a minimum of effort, but it might also be boring for you.

2021-09-16 18:11:28 +0000 UTCSince Yumiko's Guess Who game takes the longest time of any achievement to get through, It might be better to reverse what she offers first when you have a drink with her after hours at the night bar. Right now, the first time you don't get an erection, she tells you about her audition for Joy and sends pics, then the second time this happens, she offers to play Guess Who. Since it takes about 150 days to see all 52 images (and maybe more with the new update), it might be better to start the game as soon as possible.

2021-09-03 05:48:27 +0000 UTCYes and no. The rendering is not the main bottleneck. When you look at the devleopment news, you can see that a lot of the new content has "renders are done" already. Creating the code, writing dialoge and thinking about how to hold it all together takes far longer than the renders. Also renders isn't machine time bottlenecked, but it's creator time setting up the scene that's the bottleneck (with some exceptions). Still having a faster card helps and makes rendering more fun. You will get more renders per scene in the future, having faster switches from one to the next. That will be the main difference between a 10 minute and a 3 minute render time. It also opens up the possibility to have animations with higher frame rates.

Still, it's a nice resource which I'd like to see more of. Perhaps Joy could give a quest to open the sauna to both sexes on Sun. Also, maybe the PC could use the sauna to get some benefit at least as good as relaxing in a sun lounger.

Ideally, I'd like a close up of the PC squeezing her breasts and behind, but this might be too much work for the benefit. However, an old pose could be repurposed or even a fist pump would work. (If it's easier, maybe Jennifer could take the winner's picture and send you the image later as a sext.) The benefits would be to give every girl 2 more achievements and give every player a reason to choose each girl to win the each contest. Right now, I hardly ever choose Brenda.

However, I like the Pose Your Butt images in the phone better than when they actually occur since the phone images seem bigger. Of course, I'm no expert at judging relative sizes, but maybe this is caused by the zoom in you can get from the girl? I'd prefer to have the girl say, "Let me get closer," and have the image bigger like when you view it on the phone.

The bottom one for weekly trophies seems to have disappeared. This is usually no problem, but when Amy needs 5 weekly trophies, it becomes difficult to see the last part of the row. Maybe I misremembered, and there never was a bottom slider, but it would be useful to have.

Maybe Faye should send them only once. Alternately, she could send just one, then the other when the event repeats. You could even add a couple more sexts for her to send when the event repeats. This may only be my problem since I rarely send Faye home.

The list of girls to masturbate needs another row added to accommodate the greater number of girls. 2 rows of 8 and 1 of 7 would allow for 23 girls or all of the girls.
