Vertigo (1958) FULL WATCH ALONG w/Coby

This was So Much Fun! You got the film, and the film got You. I love it when I see people have the reaction to a film, that the filmmakers intended, especially a film that was released 60+ years ago. This and Rear Window were Perfect! Thank You. This was definitely a Tragedy, in the classic sense. "Tragedy - branch of drama that treats in a serious and dignified style the sorrowful or terrible events encountered or caused by a heroic individual." No One was better off in the end from where they were at the start. Not even Midge. Scottie could be heading back to the sanitarium after that fade out, if not worse. It was such a Beautiful Tragedy though. Robert Burks' colorful and vibrant Cinematography, Bernard Herrmann's anxiety inducing Score, Edith Head's stylish Wardrobe, James Stewart's and Kim Novak's steaming chemistry. Kim Novak Period. Who knew Falling into Depression could be so much Fun. ;-) If you’re interested in seeing James Stewart and Kim Novak in a lighter Romantic Comedy, then check out… Bell, Book and Candle (1958)… also starring Jack Lemmon (released just 6 months after Vertigo). This film works for either Halloween or Christmas. For more Kim Novak… The Man with the Golden Arm (1955)… directed by Otto Preminger, also starring Frank Sinatra and Darren McGavin Pal Joey (1957)… 50s Musical, also starring Frank Sinatra and Rita Hayworth Kiss Me, Stupid (1964)… directed by Billy Wilder, also starring Dean Martin Side Note: I was flying in a plane once, with a window seat, and I was listening to the In-Flight Radio. There was a station playing Classic Film Scores. Just as the plane began to come in for a Landing, Bernard Herrmann's Vertigo Score started playing. Listening to this as the Ground began to get closer and closer and closer, and then the plane finally touching down during the "Rooftop" sequence... Boy, was it Creepy as all get out... and I Loved it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NH9orCx6h7Y I totally agree that the film has a very Peaceful quality… that is until Scottie loses his head. ;-) PS: Diggin’ the Bloopers :-)
