Fantastic Cast!! Sylvester Stallone should have been nominated for this film. He had created a reputation as a big action star that was always being compared with Arnold Schwarzenegger. There is No Comparison. This film proved it once and for all. Even though it had already been proved with the Rocky films that he wrote and directed. Stallone Can Act, and in Cop Land he made you forget All the action films he had done and made you believe that he was a weak pushover for most of this film. Stallone is a Terrific Actor, as you will see in the remaining Rocky films. Also, if you have not seen… First Blood (1982)… then you Must! Another of his best Acted films. Joey was played by actor, writer and director, Peter Berg. One year earlier, he played a Boxer in a film called… The Great White Hype (1996), another film with a terrific cast. Victor Williams was the actor who played Russell, the first cop being interrogated by DeNiro. You might have recognized him as Deacon on The King of Queens. Terrific Script by James Mangold, who was also the Director. This was only his 2nd film, and he was able to gather this Cast. Unbelievable. Whenever I try to think of a good movie you might not have seen, you say something that makes me realize you have already seen it. "The Town (2010), Gone Girl (2014), Conspiracy Theory (1997). and Ransom (1996) are all excellent movies that would fit on Criminal Content.
