The Sacred Sun - Day 1/12 - Warrior Tier

For today’s journey, I’ll demonstrate a breathing technique where we use The Sun as guidance for integrating shame when it starts to overwhelm us and pull us off course. I’ll do it soft for the Bros, hard for the Pros, and with gentle strokes for the Warriors.

Shame may be the most difficult experience to integrate, for two reasons. 1. It’s excruciatingly painful to the psyche and 2. We typically develop shame-avoidant thought patterns in attempt to “survive” this pain, such as “I’m bad” and “I’m broken.” The trick is knowing that shame may hurt, but, just like stubbing your toe, it cannot kill you. And without proper integration, the shame-avoidant thoughts start to run our lives in ways that actually can do real harm to ourselves and others. Integration allows us to learn from the shame as needed, and then let it go.

Breath of The Sacred Sun

Gently imagine the shame spiraling into the heart center as you breathe compassion into it. Take your time, and take breaks as needed. Visualize the warmth of The Sun shining light and clarity down into the shadows of the shame through the spiral.

Gentleness is key.
