I hope one of the major impressions you get from this episode (and the one celebrating Empire Day) is the empire’s nazi-like obsession with erasing and rewriting history. It only takes a generation. The generation of Luke, Leia, and Ezra, all born on the same day as the empire (which is a good reminder of how long after EP III this is). The rebels and anyone fighting the empire are portrayed as traitors and terrorists , cause they are TECHNICALLY, literally bombing and attacking the controlling regime’s interests.

This is the second example so far of “filler” material being revisited. You guys will quickly find that although the detailed and high def animation style is different (I have loved all styles-clone wars/bad batch, rebels, resistance, visions), Rebels has TIGHT story telling, and the creators are self aware about telling a cohesive and complementary story.

Fun Fact: when episode 14 dropped, people decrypted fulcrum's voice and found out it was ashoka.

Kenobi is 10 years after Ep3 this is 16 years after. (Ezra's age is how many years after we are since he was born the day the empire began. Which also means hes the same age as Luke and Leia, a few days older) Thats why people where confused by the fake death in Kenobi

I thought season 3 fell off a little from season 2. But 2 and 4 are both really good imo

Kenobi is 9 BBY, Rebels s1 is 4 BBY. "There are some things far more frightening than death" aka Vader, the inquisitor straight up ended himself there, or tried to.

Not only he pulls from there but he brought that particular author onboard to make sure that particular character whose name shall not be mentioned but we all waiting for is as true to the books as possible. That was a classic gesture both toward the author and towards the fans, ensuring that what we get is no any different so it will not be a disappointment., Stuff like this is why Filoni is my SW hero. :)

So on you're comments about Rebels relation to the greater Star Wars universe I created a little timeline starting with Order 66 and the rise of the Empire.
Revenge of the Sith - 19 BBY (19 Years before A New Hope)
Bad Batch - 19 BBY (Days to Months After Order 66/Rise of Empire)
Kenobi - 9 BBY (10 years After Order 66, 5 years before Rebels Season 1)
Andor - 5 BBY (5 Years before A New Hope, Same timeframe as Rebels Season 1)
Rebels - 5 BBY to 1 BBY (Spans the four years before A New Hope) <----------------Here
Rogue One - 0 BBY (Days before A New Hope)
A New Hope - 0 BBY (Events of A New Hope)
So far Rebels is the closest show to the original trilogy of films. Also Ezra is the same age as Luke/Leia born on Empire Day the same day as the young Skywalkers. If you want to know how old Luke/Leia are by the time of Rebels just look at Ezra. It's a great way to keep track of Luke's age at this point in the timeline just so you can create a visual idea of what Luke could be doing at this time same with Leia.
Cannot wait for Season 2 it's a blast but I'm personally more excited for Season 3 just can't reveal why I'm excited. It pulls something from the 90s EU novels I used to read so it just put a big smile on my face. But all the Seasons have nice moments for fans of Star Wars from cartoons to novels, video games, and old Expanded Universe stories. Just like Mandalorian Dave loves to pull from the EU.

short background: Mace Windu's padawan was Deppa Billaba, Deppa Billaba trained Kannan, and now Kannan trains Ezra. You also saw Kannan and Deppa watch Ahsoka's lightsaber training in episode 5 of Tales of the Jedi. Kanan was the young boy who applauded next to a woman with dark hair (Deppa).

Season 1 gave us time with this new cast so we got to know it’s starting point and initial steps toward Rebellion. They are mostly confined to the Lothal area. In season 2, we’ll have to how they respond to learning there is more going on in the galaxy.
Master and apprentice debuting in the same episode, connected forever, as it should be.

This was the rebels arc that got me hooked on the show. I started watching it at 11 and wasn’t to into it until this arc specifically when the inquisitor cuts off the two agents heads.

I think David Filoni already started the show right with experience of Clone Wars. But the show is so much better in season 2 and the rest of the series. They keep the humor, but get rid of the extra childish nonsense.

Rebels season one takes place around 15 years after the clone wars and every season takes place during the year after the previous season. Kenobi takes place 10 years after clone wars.
