As someone who doesn't know what is going to happen in the coming episodes, I now know that Ellie not only survives, she also makes it back to Jackson and lives there for a while in order to have that horse when it grows up, which is something I wish I could unlearn about the future of the plot, as it ruins a lot of possible directions I thought it could go in.
