I mean honestly, the situation with Sasuke is understandable. Itachi, is his older brother and someone a younger brother would look up to. For him to experience something like that, at a young age nonetheless, would of course leave him in this situation. Just saying "Sasuke betrayed his village and friends for selfish goals" is simplifying his character way too much.

This is so sad because Naruto is 100% sure Sasuke wonβt do anything stupid. He sees Sasuke as the pinnacle of talent for his generation and he has so much pride on his friend. And then Sasuke leaves π sad times. Sakura... I mean, teenager act like everything is the end of the world so, this 12yo love story is everything for her π€·π»ββοΈ Itβs just so sad.

He canβt learn anything about the sharingan from Orochimaru. He just wants easy power.

I was all the way done with Sasuke here. Not only does he straight up abandon his comrades that he said he would previously lay down his life for, but he also said his goal was to restore his clan and how the hell are you going to do that without a home now

This just conjecture, but I personally think that Sasuke was so cold to Sakura in his rejection to make it less likely that she would try to go after him.

I've seen this many times but I am gonna tell man, the first time i watched the episode it was so so hard to watch. I know how you feel watching it. I dont think I ever hated Sasuke and I didn't hear but I shed some tears for Sakura in that moment.

But logically speaking nobody in the village can really defeat Itachi. The only person who can be a match is Jiraiya but he cannot help Sasuke with anything to do with his Sharingan. Kakashi cannot hold a candle to Itachi. So I guess logically speaking, if he remains in the village he may never be powerful enough

Quote from ep.33 dub, Sasuke speech after awakening after Curse Mark: " He gave me this gift, and he made me understand what I am. I'm an Avenger. To follow my path I must have power. At any price, even if it means being consumed by evil."

I understand Sasuke's reasoning but it's clear Orochimaru cannot be trusted so I would not go that route to gain power.

Naruto OP reactions were so good. Allonsyyy genuinely perplexed about the status of Sasuke xD. Is he a friend? Is he a villain? No, he's an Avenger! I think it speaks to the depth of his character development.
Honestly, Naruto is rather simplistic. His name is on the show. He's the example, the straight arrow. Not a good vehicle for a compelling show. You need someone like Sasuke to serve as the other protagonist.

Ah the 'Rescue Sasuke' arc begins - the arc with 1,000hrs of flashback lol. Good times, good times.
