Agreed on both counts, that was my thought on my first rewatch.
2023-07-29 21:21:49 +0000 UTCI think it's just his way of putting down Mr. 3's way of looking down on "meatheads" who aren't calculating like him. He made fun of Luffy who lives on instinct, then Luffy shuts him up when he sees through his trick based on his instinct.

2023-04-25 17:03:21 +0000 UTCWhen Luffy says "A hunch" after Mr.3 asks him how'd he find him, I think that was Haki foreshadowing! This is a very "Oda style" thing to do. Also, you did notice the Haki thing when Luffy scared away Dubal's pet. If you remember, something very similar happened when Shanks looked at the sea monster that was about to eat Luffy in the eyes. There are several moments along the series where Haki was foreshadowed.
