Answering the question, i am brazilian (so, from the west, i had absolutely 0 clue about korean culture when i started out). Everything i've learned about korean culture is from bts and exchange with other armys, explanations from them, translation accounts, discussions on twitter with korean armys (k-army), etc. That process took a while lol i've been here since 2017 so i had time to learn everything and i'm still learning new things everyday.

You got it actually! Paldogangsan is about different dialects (satoori) in different parts of korea. This song is genius tbh, it would be really cool if you reacted to an explanation of the song next. Not all of them come from Seoul, the "standard korean" we're used to hear in mainstream media, actually only jin and joon are from the metropolitan area. Everyone else comes from somewhere else and has an accent when speaking korean! Jimin and jungkook are from busan, as an example. There are many cultural references, jokes and pretend fights in the beginning of the song and in the end it leaves a message of unification, which i find beautiful (remember that korea is right now divided in two and in the middle of a war ceasefire). The song's name is actually 'the 8 provinces of korea', and that includes the part of korea that is now under "north korea". They talk about korea as a whole.

I highly suggest reacting to Paldogansan Explained By a Korean from DKDKTV YouTube Channel! It's so much more fun if you actually understand what's going on and you will really appreciate the comedy writing as well as the general unification message within it.
I also highly suggest when reacting to the songs, go to Doolset on Blogspot for translations to the lyrics instead of relying solely on Lyric Videos because she adds MUCH needed context to songs like this IN the translation text. You will thank me in the coming albums!

I love this album! I have learned a lot about Korean Culture and Asian culture in general because of BTS. I have learned a lot about their language and traditions. It is so much fun! I am hoping one day to be able to sing along with them and actually know what I am saying 🤣
