To test our vision and wakefulness, she tells us to "follow her finger", "look over here", and "focus", with random snaps to keep our attention. Towards the end, the ambient sounds turn into yawns, which means that the drug is taking effect. So she lets us close our eyes to the sound of yawns and sleepy whispers until we fall asleep.
