๐ท Art Sample: The first male NPC - what's your feeling about him?

In one of the recent polls, we asked you about how many male NPCs you'd be fine with in the game. Thank you again for voting!
About 60% of you said you'd be fine with a few of them, but about 40% of you wanted girls only.
It's obvious that it's not easy for us to make a final decision based on these numbers, but they're very good as general guideline for us to work with.
Design-wise, what we need the male NPCs for is to provide characters that have a specific, very narrow function (like giving you a certain item or telling you a hint or just cracking a joke) that doesn't require much backstory or dialogue. Kinda like the Electric Igor in Quidget, but of course not every such character can be a machine...
I'd just be a shame imho to have a cute girl in the game that you can't really interact with much :D
๐So, our current approach would be to run every male NPC (like this happy drunk above) by you and see if you're okay with them.

I with you on that. Sometimes, there's characters that aren't really that important overall, so it's nice if they don't look important as well - 'generic character' is exactly the right word.

2019-07-21 22:13:30 +0000 UTCI like it. I personally do hate it when games like this put pretty characters in that aren't going to be interacted with. I'd rather it be some generic character or robot or something, so "simple dude" models is good with me!
