More features, new look on error handling...

Hello Fellow Translators.

I’m sorry for the delay in last update.

Now I’ve got myself a decent internet connection, not the best but it’s ok. Fortunately there is a (rare) long holiday in this country to celebrate a coronation of a new ruler, so I have more free time to spend on Translator++.

And since last month I didn’t post a “priority poll” so I guess I’ll work on my own pace for this month.

Here is the update detail for Version 1.5.3

I got so many question about “empty folder” when exporting Wolf RPG Editor games.

Short answer is:

the translation is not proofreaded enough (see this article for more information)!

Long answer is :

Well, export/import process within Translator++ is actually a chain of procedure that utilizing 3rd party tool. We used Wolftrans for Wolf RPG Editor. If at one point the wolftrans is failed to render your translation because of … let’s say … unescaped backslashes, Wolftrans will halted midway and Translator++ will be unable to locate the output data from wolftrans therefore a folder with blank content are created.

So before we blame either Translator++ or Wolftrans, let’s check our translation once more for mistyping.

But I admit that the lack of information on export/import process makes It not an easy task to find out what and where the problem is occured.

So I made a tweak on Wolftrans to print out the patching progress. I also made a change on Translator++ to print out stderr.

Stderr is not the prettiest thing to display on the log… but we need that in order to figure out the patching problem.

(Now stderr is printed out in red. So we can go back and check at which point does the process halted out.)

Trim whitespaces

In this version I added a feature to trim white spaces on the beginning and the end of each lines of text.

Auto padding

There is a lot of creators that using white spaces as a padding to their game text. This feature will allow us to copy that padding into our translation.

These features is accessible via left panel's context menu and Translator++ button.

Oh yeah, you can also clear translations by bulk from context menu.

Toggle Wordwrapping & Explicit whitespaces

On previous version multiple white spaces are not explicitly displayed and the text is wordwrapped by default.

On version 1.5.3 you have an option to change that behavior.

Toggle monospace font

I daresay that monospace fonts are ugly!  But as far as i know, all RPG Maker engines used monospace fonts.  But regardless my personal opinion, a monospace font is a must have feature in Translator++. So, you can now toggle the monospace font on or off. This feature is useful to give immediate visual situation of in-game text length.

This version is available on patron’s download page.

Happy translating.

hi rdantas, thank you for your reply. But please avoid explicitly mentioning game title (and codes). So, to avoid unwanted problems, unfortunately I'll remove your post.

AnythingForYouMyDear

Also getting the same error with a RPGMaker game [RJ246142]

Please read or watch the online guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4f-fDg-PCo8. Translator++ will use the right most non blank column as the best translation. Just move the column of your choice (by dragging) to the right, If you want to specify a column manually as "the best" translation.

Hello. I'm sorry, what do you mean by "make the Warp text work on a line instead of based on dialog box"?

Dreamsavior

You need to install Atlas application.

Getting this error when doing a large Wolf Game. Extraction via DXE is done, the Data Folder is created. But has trouble generating initial.json. I think you need to add column selection feature when exporting the project. When I export the project, I have a problem that Translator ++ does not select the translation column I want if more than 1 column has text.

Can you make the Warp texts work on a line instead of based on a dialog box? When I use Warp texts (Maximum length = 60): https://imgur.com/T7Y0Sw3 And if I delete the above line: https://imgur.com/nqOXqyz

how to use Atlas translation? it not working here

For translating I had always used this! <a href="http://gamestailer94.de/translator/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://gamestailer94.de/translator/</a> But then I discovered yours and with your tool everything was much easier to translate! But then I noticed that the tool had a lot of bugs! With some games you can't export the translated files at all! And if you automatically use translators, then the game doesn't start at all, because he also translated the characters he wasn't allowed to translate! And I also noticed that not all sentences are displayed in the tool! The idea of your tool is really great, but it still has a lot of bugs
