Translator++ Ver 2.1.1 - New year, new UI, new feature, new capability

 Hello fellow translators. 


The following is a list of changes in Translator ++ Version 2.1.1:


NWJS has been upgraded

NWJS is upgraded to the most recent version, ver 0.43 (but strangely the NWJS signature shows 0.42.6)

node version js: 13.1.0

Chromium: 78.0.3904.108


UI & UX has been upgraded.

The left panel in addition to the changeable width, can also be fully collapsible. This gives more work space for the grid.

We can also open supported formats directly from Windows Explorer or drag & drop into the Translator ++ application

Translator ++ will also remember the pane arrangement, window size and state of "toggle whitespace" & "wordwrap" each time you start the application.


As mentioned in the previous post, I have overhauled the process of making a new project.


This menu demonstrate that starting from version 2.1.1 Translator ++ is not only a tool to translate RPG Maker & Wolf RPG Games, but is a tool to help the translation process in general.

in the future there will be more options to be added to the new project creation options.

I deliberately put some game engines that will be done in the future on this menu as placeholders. This menu will always remind you and me that Translator ++ will continue to grow, and that Translator++ still needs your support.


Capability to create a project from spreadsheet has been added

The following is a list of supported formats:

This is a wildcard format for translating your game.


You have two choices when starting a spreadsheet project:


The first option is "The first columns are transcribed text, the rest of the column are predefined translations"

The first choice will be to create a grid with cell arrangements like the original spreadsheet.



And the second option is "All columns are translatable text"

The second option will grab all cell's translatable content and place them in the key cell (the first column on the far left)

I am sure that having these two choices will make the translation process much easier.

So on top of the old bugs (line breaks not applying, and common events not being patched) still existing, 2.2.10 now fails to compile. When you try to compile at all, the "Save" icon just perpetually spins.

I have tried translating a few wolfrpg games and there seems to be a problem writing(or reading) the filelist from the initial.json file. So, it manages to extract everything but then fails to load the actual list of maps/etc. into the ui.

I've found a bug that comes from RPGMaker Trans. You cannot use an unescaped > character in your project. For example I was using >_< emoji and it took me hours to figure out why it wasn't patching. If you can't fix this can you please handle the error at least? Thanks

RPG Maker VX Ace patching for Common Events just seems to...not work? The patch doesn't apply any of the translated text to Common Events, I'm not sure where the text is even going to. There's a formatting issue (I think?) with Armor/Weapons in VX Ace patching. For some reason the translator doesn't apply line breaks to the patch for armor/equipment. Oddly, line breaks *do* apply in standard dialogue. Not sure what the deal is. Also I think the word-wrapping might be malfunctioning. I've set the character limit to 41, but it wraps way before it actually hits 41 characters: https://i.imgur.com/VIXJruH.png (Edit: I've figured out it's if you manually apply linebreaks in the Source column of wordwrap that it messes up, would be nice if this was fixed because the initial column is huge otherwise and manually shrinking it cuts off the text).

Probably, because RPG Maker trans failed to compile your translation. Please try to export your project file by file to find out which file caused the problems.

hi, i have a problem "Unable to run PHP Interpreter!" i tried to uninstall visual c++ and install it again but it still gives me the same problem What I can do?

Excellent work so far. May I have one request: Is it possible to customize the content of the Common Reference table? It would only improve the program if we had the ability to remove some elements like LUK (it keeps appearing randomly out of place in translations) , and to add new custom words or even custom dictionaries or tables with names or terms. Thanks again.

I know that I can delete a column by right-clicking it selecting delete but sometimes I don't want to remove the column I just want to clear the texts written in it, so please add a 'Clear this column' option. Also, can you add a Bug Tracker? There are plenty of options out there.

when i export to the file folder it doesn't exist .. what happened ... help me

it happens to me with a lot of games :'(

I opened Nightmare School ~Lost Girls~ ( https://sukebei.nyaa.si/view/2664076 ) with Translator ++ but it didn't work. Translator ++ started a project as usual but I could not find any text to translate.
