The fight for the role of 'Evelyn Hugo' continues at Netflix

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is a historical drama novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, first published in 2017. The story centers on a fictional character, Evelyn Hugo, an introverted, aging Hollywood icon who, at 79, decides to reveal the truth about her days in Hollywood and various scandals she was in. She chooses an unknown magazine reporter, Monique Grant, to write her biography, leaving everyone puzzled about why Monique was selected. Through a series of interviews, Evelyn narrates her journey from a poor Cuban-American girl to a superstar in Hollywood’s Golden Age. The narrative is structured around her seven marriages, each to a different man—Ernie Diaz, Don Adler, Mick Riva, Rex North, Harry Cameron, Max Girard, and Robert Jamison—detailing her rise to fame, the sacrifices she made, and the secrets she kept. A central mystery unfolds as Evelyn discloses her true love, actress Celia St. James, with whom she maintained a decades-long, secret relationship amid a homophobic industry.

Netflix is currently developing the movie with still no official cast announced for Evelyn Hugo.

First Selena Gomez's name was thrown out there, mostly by fans, but no one took it seriously. Selena is not someone who can play this seductive, complicated role in which lots of emotion and skin must be shown if Netflix wants to adapt this novel properly.

Now Eiza González reveals that she got a big endorsement from Natalie Portman to play Evelyn Hugo.

Natalie Portman told her, “I can’t think of anyone else to do Evelyn Hugo.

I personally agree with Natalie Portman. Eiza is beautiful and hot, and I think if the script requires her to strip down, she will do it gladly.

Evelyn Hugo had a lesbian relationship, and she used her body to climb the ladder, sleeping with producers and anyone she wanted something in return from.

Whoever is going to play Evelyn must be ready to do all kinds of sex acts; otherwise, the film will be ruined.

But I am concerned that Netflix is adapting this, because recently they have shown that they can't be trusted with good sex/nudity.
