so...
after fanbox revised their rules, they did specify that non-realistic art COULD be okay. HOWEVER, if the posts contain metadata (titles, tags, other stuff probably??) that is deemed "contentious", the art would need revision and you might still risk losing your account.
i emailed them, asking how the revision process works, and if i was in any danger, and they... sent me a link to their new policies, basically giving me a non-answer;;
the new rules were implemented 4/5 days ago, and just to see what would happen i left some of my art up.
AND!!
nothing happened to it. cool! so i unprivated some more, this time including some of the more explicit stuff. nothing happpened! again!
so i'm... guessing i'm fine? nothing has changed at all?
i believe not only am i okay because my art is really cartoony, but also because i've never tagged anything using "contentious" tags, only the name of the show/game the fanart is from.
so... yay?
on one hand, i'm happy i get to keep using fanbox, as it's super convenient and well made, but on the other... i wish they were more clear and transparent, and i'm still not 100% sure my account will be safe forever, so...
i'm going to keep using it normally for now, just with a bit of caution.
