I was disappointed by it like Bob was, but I also agree it should be seen on the biggest screen possible because the visuals are the best part

For anyone interested, OK KO got a complete Season 1 DVD release from madman Australia , it's region free like a lot of their Cartoon Network releases and pretty high quality

I looooved Nope and if you're seeing it I personally reccomend that you see it in theatres, Henry - it's among about a thousand other things a throwback to action-thrillers of the 90s and really benefits from the spectacle

Henry. If you want to go to THE Willis Tower (Sears Tower) then go but if you want a nice view of Chicago I recommend the Hancock building bar. It’s a great view and it’s free with the purchase of a cocktail which is a nice little bonus to have a cocktail with such a nice view. Hope you enjoy your stay in Chicago!

Even though they probably would have been mediocre or worst, I was pretty disappointed by the cancellation of the Batman and Urkel Christmas specials. As someone who consumes way too much Christmas content, I just get excited to see anything new. Network TV still likes to air some Christmas content every December, so maybe they'll pay for the broadcast rights (both specials were announced last year so they must be pretty far along in production) and will see the light of day. The Batman one especially sounded intriguing because it was basically Batman meets Home Alone.

Transformers The Movie is a big fat yes.

Bob is in for a treat with Transformers: The Movie. It's the Citizen Kane of Orson Welles movies.

The loss of so much content is heartbreaking in so many ways. The online yoga platform I helped to create was purchased by a truly evil (eviler than typical) company last year (Fuck it, this is Patreon. Gaia, it was Gaia, and they are suck and perpetuate a lot of dangerous shit) and while it feels good to not be tied to them, seeing videos that I was really proud of and worked super-hard to make disappear forever really hurts. And I’m like, a nobody. I can’t imagine the impact of losing treasures that people actually watch. Did we learn nothing from the 20th century?

That's why you're my kaizoku

re: Bob saying Be Our Guest should be "Irasshai" instead of "Youkoso" (which I know is just a joke based on his limited JP knowledge) -- important distinction! They both mean "welcome," but: irasshai - welcoming a customer into your business youkoso - welcoming a guest into your home (not just a place of residence; can also apply to your city/country)

WRT the mass HBO Max purge, this Variety piece sums up my views on how streaming needs to stop being viewed as a personal library and be realized as the continuation of corporate-controlled television it really is. A lot of this is no different than reruns going off the air. https://variety.com/2022/biz/news/hbo-max-wb-discovery-content-remove-inventory-1235352588/ Re: Batgirl, I'm assuming the tax writeoff is a lot of the reason. It's also probably awful and killing it before spending another $25-$30 million on marketing is probably appealing. The "Scoob" movie getting canned may have been a sacrificial lamb, just to say, "See, we're not picking on Batgirl!" As much as I feel for friends who worked hard on it, to paraphrase something Bob said re: superheroes on Twitter, I'm really heartbroken we'll live in a world with only 51 Scooby Doo movies instead of 52. (Besides, didn't everyone HATE the first HBO max one?)

Thad Komorowski

Sorry to correct you Bob and Henry, but the Looney Tunes and Gumball movies are also being shopped around to other places like the Batman cartoon.

TF the movie is an easy yes.
