Vote On The (New) November 2022 What A Cartoon Movie!
Added 2022-10-10 19:00:06 +0000 UTC
It's a first for our network; the yes/no poll for November's What A Cartoon Movie podcast was incredibly split. So split, in fact, we've decided to put a pause on Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol (for now) and launch a brand-new poll with a group of selections that should make everyone happy.
That said, we're proud to announce November is now Halloween Hangover Month! And our three possible choices are horror movies, all inexplicably released around the same time in the year 2012—not a particularly terrifying year, but hey. And in case you weren't paying attention a decade ago, those three movies are Paranorman, Frankenweenie, and Hotel Transylvania. Thankfully, they're all good movies! ...Or so we've heard. Now, we'll let you do your own research to determine which one you want to hear us talk about.
So please, make your choice known before the poll closes on the night of October 14! Thanks as always for your continued support of our many awesome podcasts, and we hope you enjoy whatever wins!

Aw, I wanted Magoo 😢
2022-10-11 21:13:38 +0000 UTCFraneknweenie and Hotel Transylvania over Paranorman? What glue clouds have Bob and Henry been sniffing behind everyone's back?

2022-10-11 14:53:58 +0000 UTCI think that ONE brief moment, quietly opened the door for gay representation in cartoons.

2022-10-11 14:47:37 +0000 UTCIt was never leading though. Paranorman always had a leg up.

2022-10-11 13:09:18 +0000 UTCHard choice hotel transylvania is easily the best animated film, but bob and henry HAVE talked about Genndy before it would be cool to hear about Laika.

2022-10-11 10:39:46 +0000 UTCI really enjoyed Paranorman, but I think Bob and Henry would be pleasantly surprised by Hotel Transylvania

2022-10-10 22:38:04 +0000 UTCI purposely said "at the time" just in case of this because live polls can change. I may have been wrong, but it was close. My point still stands: Adam Sandler is garbage compared to Martin Short and Catherine O'Hara

2022-10-10 22:34:09 +0000 UTCAre we looking at the same poll? Paranorman is leading by a small margin. As far as I know Sandler isn't part of that, and only hotel transylvania.

2022-10-10 22:28:59 +0000 UTCSadly I can never again respect Laika after seeing the Will Vinton documentary Claydream.

2022-10-10 21:08:45 +0000 UTCThe poll is still open at the time of this comment, but I can't believe an Adam Sandler movie is currently leading and a Catherine O'Hara/Martin Short one is in dead last. Maybe it's time to increase the Patreon $ levels lol

2022-10-10 20:25:38 +0000 UTCSo this is what happens. Neat.

2022-10-10 20:24:03 +0000 UTCParanorman has one of the first openly gay characters in a cartoon film. Albeit, the reference is super brief. It doesn't feel like it is played for laughs, to me, but I was curious what Henry's thoughts might be. Plus, it's just a much better movie than the other two.
2022-10-10 20:09:54 +0000 UTCI'm a little surprised to see Frankenweenie limping out of the gate. It just seems like a movie with a fun backstory, but at the same time, maybe it has been told plenty of times. Still, it gets my vote.

2022-10-10 20:07:41 +0000 UTCIt isn't my favorite of Laika's movies, but I think Bob and Henry would did Paranorman of all these available. And I would love to know more about their production/history than the other two.
