Chapter 9 Part B is complete π
Added 2024-04-04 07:38:20 +0000 UTCThe second part of the mini-update is now complete. That said, I'm not happy with some of the scenes which I'll come back to expand on later during edits. I wanted the gift-giving scene with Rana to include a scene where she notices the jade chest with Ahlf's letters but if I had included that, I'd probably not have finished the update by this week.
This new update will be about 37-38K words in total. Unfortunately, Twine doesn't tell you how much of that word count is code and how much is actual text and as I write directly into Twine, my guess is usually based on the amount of passages I've written. That said, the previous mini-update was about 27K (if I remember correctly), which means we're about 65K words of Chapter 9.
There is still one more update to go for Chapter 9 before it's done but I'm eager to complete it because once Chapter 9's first draft is complete, we'll be moving to Part 4 of the game which includes the last three chapters and the epilogue. It's scary to think that we're so close to the finish line (of course, it will take some time to complete those chapters), but we're nearly there.
I'm not to make an update again until Chapter 9 is completed, so I estimate the next update will be late in May to early/mid-June. I will also need to take a break from COE work for a few days next week as I'll be super busy at my IRL job from the 9th - 11th April because of training and even more training π’ That said, I'm shelving next week to attend to the side stories for March and posting the mini-update (provided testing is completed this weekend).
