Future of Side Stories

I wanted to get your opinions before we continue with the RO side stories going forward from July. As you know by now, when there is no update, I usually do a non-canon-related side story written from the RO's perspective. Usually, it's a poll between NSFW and SFW content. However, some people reached out to me on Tumblr to explain they don't read the NSFW stories which wins polls every month.
The main reason I do these type of stories is because I really dislike the idea of writing a non-canon story that isn't based on a romantic scene (either SFW or NSFW) since it feels a lot like writing fan-fiction of my own characters and disregarding the plot entirely. That said, I also don't want to exclude Patrons who aren't comfortable reading the NSFW content.
So before I make any decisions, I wanted to get your opinion. First, I can keep things as is with it being NSFW or SFW stories that you would vote for. Second, I could alternate between one month of NSFW content and one month of SFW content - remember, this only applies where there is no RO story based on the latest chapter. Thirdly, I could just skip the NSFW or SFW polls and use a randomiser generator to pick whether I'll do a story of the RO's past/childhood, NSFW or SFW story.

It's almost like the Irus winning all polls for the Cyre Tier 😅 I'm happy to change things up especially since I don't want to charge Patrons to read something they wouldn't enjoy and given the game allows for asexual players and fade-to-black scenes, it makes sense not to always have NSFW stories.

2024-07-03 12:09:37 +0000 UTCAs someone who's uh...contributed to those NSFW-skewed polls, I honestly hadn't considered that there might be Patrons who simply wouldn't be able to enjoy the monthly content because its NSFW. I'm realizing that while I can enjoy some fluffy SFW stories just as much as the NSFW, the reverse isn't true for those patrons - I can definitely get the frustration. Having said that I went with Option 2, since I think it's as close to fair as you can get with this kind of thing

I'm also guilty of enjoying the NSFW stories since it's fun and easy to write without having to think too much about the plot 😅 Hopefully there will be a good compromise from Patrons and your thoughts definitely helped!

And I understand that not everyone might be comfortable with this type of content. Also as creator it's important that you build community on other platforms. There are many factors that must be taken into consideration! I voted for the second option - I feel like this is a fair compromise. Saying all this, thank you for sharing your thoughts with us on this! You have my full support and I hope that my small rambling helped 😊
