I wanted to let you know that I've currently put Lena's scenes on hold until next week while I complete the June side stories. The idea was to work on the game scenes in the morning then after my IRL job, work on the side stories but between work and family responsibilities, it's been a bit tricky so I've decided to work on the side stories for the rest of this week before returning to complete Lena's scenes by Monday.
The only outstanding stories are for Irus and Elora which I'm going to push to have completed by today or tomorrow latest, so please keep an eye out for them on itch.io as I'll only make a post when all the stories are uploaded.
And if you've not already cast your vote on the future of the side stories, please do so here. You will be helping a lot by sharing your thoughts!
Thank you and have a lovely Friday π

Without spoiling too much, the different religious factions will come up in Chapter 11 when the gang return to Cyre and you meet one of the last major NPCs π You'll get more insight into the fact that Cyre isn't cut and dry with religious beliefs. There are still a lot of people who worship the Ancient Ones in secret and certain worshippers of Solus who worship him and his three sisters alongside the Ancient Ones. Salyra is aware of these worshippers and is far more open to them than you might think. Erlan tried his best to clamp down on people who defied this but after a while, he grew slack in enforcing his religious beliefs and Virion couldn't care less who people worship π

2024-07-05 20:26:11 +0000 UTCThank you for the reply! So the only follow up I have with your reply is this; Despite the fact that no religion forbids the worship of other gods, Erlan still outlawed and abolished the worship of the Ancient Ones just like you said. I feel that even after the war and especially during the war this will create a lot of mistrust and maybe even down right hostility between the faithful of the two religions. It would be interesting to see this reflected in Salyra, that she might respect your religious views but would certainly prefer if you believed in the Ancient Ones. Wether as a way to help repair your relationship or because you are apparently blessed by the divinity so you can have that in common with her. Just from her actions since rediscovering her I feel this would be yet another way she would attempt to get to know you. Or even as a way to control you, given her actions in some of the Short Stories I would not put this past her.

2024-07-05 16:24:26 +0000 UTCIt probably won't come up because apart from Erlan's use of Solus (eliminating the other three goddesses), no religion forbids the worship of other gods, including the Ancient Ones. So Salyra won't care if the MC believes in Solus or not and no one else in Ishari will be aghast to find this out. You can also awaken your divinity as a believer of only Solus too. This is a first draft so all the religious scenes aren't as nuanced at the moment and I'd like to add extra choices for players (dialogues and general feelings) on certain aspects but as some players are playing as non-worshipping, it's not very high on my priority list for now. You do raise some good points though and I hope you keep it in mind (and any other thoughts!) for when I start edits since I'll be asking for feedback on each chapter and things to include. Thank you for leaving a detailed comment and I hope I've answered some of your questions π

2024-07-05 13:47:11 +0000 UTCHello! I think I've left a comment once or twice in the past but typically I am a bit of a lurker. This thought had been floating around in my head for a while and I just wanted to bring it up; I am surprised that through all of the events taken place after discovering your mother yet lives she has not attempted to talk to you about your religion and beliefs. Surely being the High Priestess of Ehulla would make her curious about how your religious beliefs had formed in your upbringing in Cyre. Another potential friction point if you chose to believe in Solus or, Gods' forbid, do not even believe in the Ancient Ones. Imaging the SCANDAL this would cause if word got out that the High Priestesses Firstborn does not even believe in their gods. How can Salyra be trusted to perform her duties if she cannot even instill that belief in her own children? I don't know I am just surprised this has not come up in the game yet and am curious if it even will.
