Chapter 10 Vinia Path Update

New to the chapter:
Set sail as you return to Vinia,
Spend time with one of your three companions on the ship,
Arrive in Vinia and discover Virion's impending arrival,
Spend time with Elora and have some tea, spend time with Oren and his family, choose to gamble with Zikar or go solo and discover some hidden letters,
Optional NSFW and fluff with Elora,
Dinner with Virion,
Travel to Hadi to save the city,
Fight, persuade, lead, use your divinity or do nothing in the face of the Blood Guard,
Face Kazan as an ally or enemy, and
Fail or succeed in saving Hadi.
The update is about 70K words long with code, and each playthrough should be roughly about 30-50K of content depending on the choices you make.
There might be bugs - for some reason, variables did not work as they have before and I'm putting it down to the recent-ish Twine update. Some variables were not set, which meant that I had to add them to the initiating passage where all main variables are stored so if something is not working or you get an error message, please let me know either in the comments or through private messages - screenshots are most appreciated!

30 Oct 2024: Renamed an incorrect variable that prevented players from accessing Elora's scenes in the palace at night - please restart or use a save from Chapter 9 to access it.

It might be in my madness that I made a continuity mistake that wasn't caught by testers but I'll be going through everything with a fine-toothed comb during edits so it should get fixed 😊

Send as many messages as you want, I don't mind 💖 For the first part, I didn't really use variables for Salyra's relationship for certain passages, so I went with the broadest interpretation there is. During edits, when I go over scenes fully with my testers, I'll be able to tweak passages where the feel weird based on people's gameplay. The second part is based on the letter (I think) that you write to the Vinia family. The last part is that Salyra will always see the MC as her child even if she backs off slightly based on your poor relationship 😅 She's a flawed character and no matter how much you push her away, she's not going anywhere 👀

2024-11-06 19:45:14 +0000 UTCfirst of i want to apologize to you Ramona for bombing you with this many different messages. after finishing the game once more i must say i love all the scenes with romanced elora. especially 2 scenes: the first when you tell her mother about your courting and the second one when you tell virion that elora is courting someone. it feels like a very small victory when you reveal to him that you are courting her and silences him for a moment. i also found a few "bugs". not really bugs, more like writing errors. (i noticed, that "writing errors" sounds harsh, like im insulting your writing style, which im not doing.) - during the meeting, where MC meets their vinia-family in ishari, you have the option to say something to uncle belahm. there you can choose the option: "Uncle Belham, you breathe. Please, do not strain yourself. You can choose anger later, after you have rested." i understood this as the neutral option, neither defending nor insulting salyra. if you choose this option on the next page there is a sentence which says: "You do not care much for his feelings towards Salyra, but you do not wish to see him hurt himself in fighting a battle you are certain is unwinnable". i think, that the first "not" is too much. it sounds very harsh, especially if you chose mostly the angry options when talking to salyra and i think MC would care for his feelings. and since MC already went through all of this themselves, they know thats its unwinnable. i admit, that maybe my own headcannon of my character influenced my interpretation. in short: my character thought and came to the conclusion: "i dont want to waste more energy being angry at a person, which i dont really care anymore." and would try "teaching" this too her uncle. - during the "hold baby Nasiba"-conversation, uncle belahm metioned that MC told him about Salyras other family. maybe i missed this or its assumed that MC tells him this off screen, but from my experience MC only shares this information if you choose the "she matters not"-option during the first meeting with the vinia-family in ishari, which i didnt. this is part report, and part question: - during the family dinner-scene, you can talk to salyra and tell her, that she and MC will never be mother and child. during this salyra seems to finally accept it. but if you decide to say goodbye before leaving ishari in chapter 10 (in my case before returning to vinia) she says to the other priestesses something like "leave me and my daughter alone". is this intentionelly, meaning salyra still didnt accept it or is this a oversight? chapter 10 was really great (like the rest of the game). im excited for the rest of this chapter and the future ones

She has 'dark' eyes but it's not stated what colour it actually is and her hair is also 'dark' but it's up to the player to determine 😊 Her height is average - which will differ depending on what you consider to be average.
