One of the points I've made though is that what you call "slice of life" is terrible compared to any/many other animes that I've seen and I have seen a sht ton from the 90's to this year. It's the only thing that I didn't like about MHA. For an anime of this caliber the in-between is very trashy compared to the average anime imo.

So episodes 14-23 are going to feel more like slice of life becuz you will not get crazy action pack 4k hype animation like every anime weebs want. In other words, u may be bored or entertained. Personally it ain't that bad but you do still need to watch these episodes becuz one, they are still part of the story and it will be important going onto the movie, Heroes Rising and future episodes. Season 5 is also going to be a little more laid back like the second half of season 4. So again, you may be bored but it ain't bad and you do need to pay attention to season 5 becuz everything else will be important in Season 6 which is the Banger season that hit you out of nowhere. I've said my part and anyone wanting to argue with my comment, I proved my point.

MHA is peak when it comes to the climax of the seasons but the in-between of those moments is insufferable. It's not like One Piece or Naruto or Demon slayer where there's always action and interesting story/world building as you progress thorough the arc. MHA is about "will you not die of boredom and survive until we give you the next best action scenes of our anime" and the recurrence of this happening really only gets worst from there.

As for season 4, imo it's the best season (op and ed are top tier) while the story starts to be more flesh out, the repetitiveness happens later on whenever there's a 'training arc'. Midoriya being less complex isn't really that much of an argument because season 4 isn't about him, the first cour is about the villains lurking in the shadow starting to move after all might's retirement, while 2nd cour is about making people stray their thoughts away from cour 1's theme and ending it with the prelude to the war, the official replacement of hero rankings. so yea, not much deku focus because it's not.

2024-05-21 03:07:08 +0000 UTCIt feels so lazy to me, its a great character moment but when you realize it's just less detailed manga panels and they are just blasting the OST to try and give it weight. the scene loses a lot for me. MHA seasons 1-3 are probably like a 7-8 out of 10 but with season 4 and on it begins to feel repetitive and Midoriya becomes less and less complex. Season 6 had some great moments but still fell a below the first 3 seasons in my opinion. Have not been impressed with season 7 so far but will see where it goes.

A lot of people had an issue with Bones not fleshing out quirless Mirio vs Shisaki but Nick didn’t even acknowledged it and still enjoyed the message of the episode/fight which is what MHA is so good at doing.

But they failed to realize the entire "slideshow" scene was anime original. That whole moment was brand new. And the still images were a stylistic choice. But people got mad anyways lol.
