This is silly. In movies, they just need plot. Robots have no need for preservation and they do not have hearts or emotions or greed or any of that. Like time travel, evil robots that rule the world is something that will never happen because it doesnt make sense.

Here are some other Robot movies I find entertaining, Ex Machina, M3gan, The Creator, Chappie, Surrogates, Archive, Upgrade, Ghost in the shell 1996 (animated version before watching the Scarlet Johansson version), Elysium, Alita, Wall-E (JK). Those are the ones I find that are good.

I first watched this movie back in 2004 when it first came out and found it very alarming and creepy! Now here we are 20 years later, with more and more kinds of robots being built and tested and advanced AI. All the ethical dilemmas posed by advanced AI and robotics mankind is facing....will it be misued, do these intelligent "things" ultimately have rights and just what are the bottom line responsibilities of creators and users???? Time will surely tell.

This is probably set in a future wherein the second amendment has been repealed, therefore civilians wouldn't stand much of a chance against 1 robot for every 5 humans. However, if the 2A is upheld, I would put my money on 5 humans with AR15s against up against 1 robot. An armed populace is a deterrent for any type of revolution. That's why the founders put the 2nd amendment there because they themselves had just fought a revolution from a tyrannical government. But ya'll are Texans, I'm sure I shouldn't have to explain stuff like this to yall

2024-07-23 01:53:02 +0000 UTCOne more thing and then I'll shut up.(this was one of my dad's favorite movies so i've seen it a buzzillion times) If you watch closely, all the standard NS5 robots have yellow eyes. Sonny has blue eyes...so, when they do the bait and switch for destroying Sonny with the nanites, you can see for a flash its eyes light up yellow instead of blue, signaling to the audience that this robot is not Sonny. Blink and you miss it.

2024-07-23 01:39:45 +0000 UTCOkay, interesting design elements: all the "good, helpful" robots have very trusting doll/teddy bear eyes. It makes them seem harmless. The NS5s have more human features which ironically makes them seem much more sinister and creepy. Weird right?
