Okay enough of that, so the monthy round-up has lagged! Physically in the form of this post and mentally in the form of...this post being this late. So this'll have to cover both months. Wow what a time to be alive. So lets get to it all.

Life

It's bigger, bigger than you (and you are not me). I've slashed my hours at my actual job down to a pittance so I can work on other things, which is great! What's not so great is that because I'm still doing that job, and it's a night-job, it's really throwing all the opportunities I'm wanting to grab by not doing said job under a bus. Sleeping through deadlines and opportunities and that. As such, moving into other careers and learning other skills is proving difficult. Can't help but feel that I'm going to have to devote a lot of time I wanted to put just to art and channel it into other things before I just plain run out of money.

Not ideal. And not ideal for other things, so it happens, so lets get into them.

Streaming and Sketching and That
I streamed here and there (and even recorded something, as those $5ino's can attest to) me making this comic and doing stuff, but I reckon the rather hodge-podge timing for these streams and moments, the limited ability I have to make people aware of the when and the how- and most importantly how the streaming slowed my computer down and made making complicated pieces like the comic slow and laggy led to them being less successful than I thought they would be.

I'm not wanting to stop making them, but I think a specific stream-time needs to be set up, and for me to have already sketched a rough out, or gotten ideas off you guys so that we can come into it hot and not spend too long dithering over the most basic outlines.

So to that end, I'll be merging any sketch or commission spots in with streaming, so that, say, $5 people can pick suggestions or themes for the stream that we can go into. I'll also look to see what I can do to make the streamtimes more public- maybe a hypnohub thread or something similar.

Volition

Good news and....neutralish news for Volition. On the good side, we're at the part that everyone's been waiting for! And even gooder- I finally hammered out the overarching plot from start-to-finish, so we actually know what we're doing!

However, looking at the amount of content that's planned, how many scenes will need doing and the like....the current state of affairs won't do. The way I'm drawing currently, a page a week, roughs-lines-colour-shade, then rinse-repeat next week, is proving to be very inefficient. It's human nature I suppose that when more time is freed up it's natural that people take more time to do things, and when you're starting from scratch each week there's a lot of initial dithering involved.

So I think after this 'chapter' is over, rather than just working on a single page, I'll work on a group of pages all in one go- maybe ten, maybe a whole chapter. And this will mean that updates to Volition will inevitably slow down dramatically. Maybe just an update a month...or maybe an update every two months. But the amount of content per update will be higher over the same amount of time.

And chances are fair that I'll keep y'all patrons in the loop on how the latest batch is going- previews and the like. And maybe for public I'd decide release a page at a time and you guys get the splooge of all the pages in one go, I dunno. But that's the idea.

Other Things! Thrallworks? Movement? Writing?
Well first up, have a couple of arts I've done.

Here's a lass in the 'Movement' setting I've brought up a few times now and done some prior character art for. Her name's Nikiru and she's a 'Matriarch' of the Movement, which puts her in charge of one of their compounds, which are like hubs used to refine the girls within and aid the conversion of the whole world into the worship of a woman they ascended into a sexual-spirit called 'Yi Lin'....whilst also working as a kind of police-force to guard the world from Yi Lin's worst excesses (they got more than they bargained for with her).

I'm still torn on how to realize this world, but I tell ya, I'm digging the idea of fiction.live right now. If you don't know what that is, here's a fun little adventure I found over there:

So as you can see, basically a CYOA-type place. And I've been talking with the guy I made this Movement setting with and figuring it might be good to make a bunch of small CYOA-type things just following individuals in the compounds, Hunters roaming the countryside to find new 'aquisitions' to add to their cult, Housegirls and how they are constantly waylaid from their given tasks by other compound members wanting to play with them, etc.
Could be fun.

WHEW LADS
Drew this lass for a friend's DnD campaign setting actually, but actually relevant to a potential other fantasy setting of my own....and also, well, I quite liked the lack of shading here. It was a fast drawing! I doubt it'd be acceptable to go back to this primitive style for Volition, but it may be similar to what I'd do for other projects in the future.

Anyway, latterly is Thrallworks. Again, CYOA is very tempting for this, so I may change the formatting of it a little. I think it would be good to have a set date or set times to work on this because, welp, I posted it, and then was hit with a lot of question marks on how to truly proceed with it. Another one of those 'scope' issues, I reckon.

But I think the thing to do is to calm it down some and do slower releases with this for the time being- I think the time for it to truly shine will come in the near future, afterI switch up how to do Volition...also honestly between this and the Movement idea, Movement is coming ahead in my mind simply because I've got a friend to discuss it with and that really makes all the world of difference when it comes to how excited you can get over a setting. Not going to let this lie at all, but you know, that's what TW is up against.
