Something I drew for a friend's sci-fi games. It's still a 'rough' put I thought y'all would appreciate it, and I'll be adding it to the sketch polls for completion soon!
My friendo also wrote up a list of featuresfor it, as presented here:
Space suit. (Symbiote has air exchangers, can be deployed and sealed over the head to prevent asphyxiation. Deployed over the rest of the body it forms a thin layer that blocks radiation, prevents vacuum bruising, and generally does spacesuit things.)Optional "pressure watch" setting (Say, being able to spot when pressure is diving and you need to deploy)
Retractable. It's capable of being retrieved/reduced to just a small unit- bracelet or something. Lets it be worn constantly and deployed on short notice (ie, before you asphyxiate). Can be worn deployed or undeployed under clothes. Assumes it's supposed to deploy under clothes (and may dissolve undergarments in the way, if worn over something too long)
Modification/Tearing/Directed growth: Can be styled or artistically damaged to encourage particular means of growth. If it takes damage in combat, it is unlikely to lose pressurization all over- but it may form a revealing tear and seriously compromise modesty, especially if it was all that was being worn.
Space Suit: Magnetic soles: Bottom of the feet can magnetize to stay on a hull in zero g. Can be amped up to make walking extremely difficult or fully stick a creature to the floor, but who would ever do that?
Space Suit: Polarizing visor. The transparent hood can darken to utter opacity to prevent optic damage from say, staring at a bright light with no intervening atmosphere. Can be overtuned to blind, but who would ever do that?
Living suit (tendrils, pulse, subtle manipulations). Capable of saying 'thank you' and 'yes please' without words.
Symbiote Settings: Suits can be instructed to provide stimulus. A Nephilim stuck in a dropship for a few hours on approach might switch her suit to "entertain me" setting. Or "massage" or ~~"milk"~~. The actual Nephilim might be more familiar (or more comfortable) with these features than her friends.
Neckbrace: Supports head and neck in high g environments. Prevents trauma in impacts or collisions. Deployed unwanted, it could function like a posture collar, but who would ever do that?
Pheromone communication: The suit can relay information on the wearer's physical condition to other suits to alert for hyperventilation, etc. Can also alert for signals of arousal, frustration, or as a crude lie-detector sensing changes in skin temperature. Presumably, they can be relied upon not to do that to anyone who isn't momma/poppa/wearer.
(I think that's less a 'feature' and more 'it's a nephilim; accustomed to its wearer and capable of communicating with those who know how to talk to it')
Note that it can respond to that too- Individual organisms, each capable of development or manifestation of quirks and peculiarities.
Nourishment- feeds off of body heat and salts/fluids. May attempt to adapt itself or the host to support this- they aren't exactly used to living off Legion or Kaltoran or Twi-Far hosts after all. Very minor metabolic changes, or enhancing injections. Very minor. Nothing more than a faint sore the next day. They're subtle.
Trainable: Suits can be taught to perform certain tasks when certain cues are given. (By wearer or maintainer.)
Colour-shifting: Suits can change colour based on stimuli, of even become translucent. (Or just opaque/translucent scale, if that feels like too much) It can be used for investigating injuries beneath the suits. Or embarrassing wearers, but who would ever do that? ~~Note: spanking reveals the butt~~
