Volition Preview and Future.
Added 2019-08-07 22:02:01 +0000 UTCHey all, figured that maybe $5 deserved something beyond just game access, so I'm also going to be putting out page previews here of the linework of muh Volition comic too!
As said, this isn't actually interfering with the thrallworks-work, it just cuts into my social life*.
So far, regarding funding this enterprise...well, the response has been pretty much as I imagined, which is to say a lotta talk and a little activity. Which is fine, I just wanted to see what the water was like.
So my current thinking with Volition: Doing it or charging it page-by-page is dumb. However, it's also not something in this modern age where I can work on a whole issue and not expect it to be yo-ho-ho'd. So we're going to work it somewhere in the middle.
I'll make whole issues of it, some...20 pages or however long a chapter should be. 25? 30? And after I've made it, I'll start releasing the pages, maybe 2 a week, for free (though if it's taking me a week to make 1 page then maybe 1 a week is still fine). You patreon peeps can get the high-res versions of the images and get them a day early at the $2 level, and as I get to certain points in the next issue's production, I'll also be giving small previews to you $5+ peeps..
For the impatient, they can make a one-off donation on my coffee page and get the whole issue in one go in high-res, along with some bonus art and maybe some lore. As for how much the donation should be...probably $10 or so. Enough so people can feel some sense of ownership over it at least.
That's where my current thinking is taking me anyway. I do want to do something for the $10 people as well unique to Volition, but I've yet to decide. From prior experience there's little point in polls for what bonus art people might like to see, or a suggestion box...well, something might come to me. Or if any of you have an idea, drop it in the comments.
