TW Update #22: Model Progress

Hey ho! Been a while, but such is life. As you can see, the time has born fruit!

I now have a working model of L-D19 to use for the game. There's still plenty of different expressions/poses/hairtypes etc. to plug in, but compared to the initial setup cost those're negligible and will be something I can leave as ambient background work while the majority of the workday can be spend on new things. I'm hoping to do some fancier lighting stuff with the model too, but I'm hitting a few compatibility snags on that measure so it'll probably take a while to figure out, if it can be implemented at all.

Considering the work and how satisfied I am with the model, I think I might skip the testing phase and just roll with Live2d models for the whole cast from the get-go. We'll see how it progresses. Not all models will be as complicated at L-D19's, but then most don't need it; just those who feature heavily, like Cerise.

As for other stuff:

Pony Minigame

Got it all planned out, been working on it screen by screen on the saturdays.

Trying out the opening splash page. Probably not sticking with this design/layout at all, but hey it's all progress.

Also, with Beauregard being the 13th pony, it leaves a strange situation, as the 'teams' in the pony races consist of 2 pony racers, so there's a gap...

So naturally, there'll be a 14th unlockable pony!

Dossiers and Cameo Thralls

We can expect an addition within the next couple of weeks. Gamedev-wise they're a fun aside, but when it comes to populating the greater game with thralls (spotted walking around the park, etc.), this has spurred me to maybe offer such positions as commission slots too, and it seems fair that those who've had Dossiers done would be discounted, seeing as a bunch of design work has already been done on them.

Gotta be careful with scope bloat on that measure though, so we'll see exactly how many are needed.

Alright, more model development to come, and not just of Ty and Cerise either! I'll also be starting to slide them into relevant scenes soon, to get that test-scene fully armed and operational.

I'll also be doing a State of the Union sometime next week to talk publicly about some other developments/arts that aren't specifically TW related (as well as some that are), so look forward to it!
