TW Update #27: Mini-Choices and Sexy Sessions

My my. And hello all!

This marks the last week of some truly time-consuming irl events on my end, but even so development on TW continues anon. We're close to a point where I can start sharing scenes again, even if they won't be perfectly put together, and it's my hope that as we continue on with these updates, I can get back to doing regular scene updates and example outlines for those interested.

Now that I'm writing about it, I suppose a big thing about these updates is that, well, they will contain spoilers, as they're being written more as a devblog than anything else. So for those of you who just want a progress update, you can behold the opening picture and be content with that, for everyone else...shall we talk about Domines?

Your Domine.

Dom Tureis Irres. A cultivated Domine thrall who is contracted to cater to a certain allotment of Instructors- of which Keller is one.

You'll be able to book sessions with her in the game, (and she'll be turning up in other places too). When you make a booking, you pick from various sliders and try and work out your activities beforehand (though there's always something of a session 0 beforehand). You'll get to choose what kinks are involved, what the terms of address are, if you're going to have a safeword or not, and, most importantly, whether she's to arrive as a Dom...

...Or a sub. Domines are not specifically Dominant afterall, and serve in either role. Or can switch!

As for how I am currently imagining a Domine session to go, well, I'm not a fan of erotic encounters like this that just give you nice pictures alone with nothing to do; it feels wasteful of the potential of an interactive medium. So instead she'll be giving you instructions, or you giving her them, needing to do specific things interspersed with moments of inaction. I'm sure this will provide ample opportunity for the game to play games with you, or for you to fondle and caress her, or atach things on, or grab her face, interspersed with small minigames based on some of the kinks selected. I look forward to working on these later in the year.

For now though, we're just putting a few UI ducks in order:

As some of the textboxes denote, there will be things that function a little like 'mini-choices' in a scene, where small hexes will appear by character heads that you can click to 'interrupt' the scene and do something to slightly change its course, such as use a trigger or offer a suggestion. It won't cause a scene to veer as crazily as the kind of screen-stopping multi-choices, but can provide some pros or cons, which you can get more info on depending on your own Instructor modifications active/Instructor stats.

In the bottom right, you'll have info on L-D19, where I'll re-introduce the synaptic conformity sine-wave, diamonds for her current triggers, and above those I'll be including buttons for 'encourage/discourage', linked to her PCU. During conversations you can manipulate these to further her education along in subtle ways, but you don't want to splash them about willy-nilly. And in some conversations, you'll get some indications as to when you can use them, and in others they'll be disabled.

There'll be more on that side of the screen to go into, but I think we'll discuss it in more depth in another couple of weeks when- hopefully- I'll be able to show you some of it!

Anyway, that's this update done! Come this week's end, I'll be free of my other obligations and can hard-focus on this scene and the assets in it to try and meet that 3 week deadline I've ETA'd for myself.
