I note that while I'm working on commission stuff things get pretty quiet here in regards to new, postable content, but such is not so, and other stuff is being done- -like this! I'm working on a new turn-based discord game for people to play, and did a bit of art for it.
Right now it's still in the setup phase, but I'm hoping for some trial run come the end of the month or so in the most basic form, where the players ('Gleaners') will be going around harvesting the 'Grain' here, taking them back to their bases for credit to obtain more skills or buy victory points- or convert them into Slaveforms to assist them in the game. Said grain'll be hiding around the map though, and there'll be opportunity for the audience to take control of some of the grain for a bit of extra challenge.
The best way to get victory points though would be to capture other players! And the winner of each game will get....???? I dunno, but it's worth thinking about for when the game's come together a little bit more. Graphically speaking, the same is going to be real simple and 8-bit, so it's not going to be visiually exciting, more icons running around a coloured map-grid, using action points to hide, subdue and all the rest.
So far as the lore here goes, it's pretty accurate! 'Fading Aria' is the name of the event, and it has a sizeable audience, with people putting bets on how long certain Grain will last and helping them out and all the rest. What goes on within the event is not particularly accurate to a 'real' harvest, as the Grain entrants have already been vetted for suitability and conditioned with various triggers, so it's more like a gameshow with volunteers.
The 'Gleaners' are typically other Harvesters on their time off, Praetorians and Combat Drones, and each will have their own skill-tree in the game...there might be facility in the future though for other things.
Anyway, I'll keep y'all posted on progress and when I'll be running the tester-events. Expect more news later on in the month about something else I'm working in a collaboration on too! Gonna be a pretty packed month, all told!
Enjoy!
