TW Update #69 - A Nice Contest!

'Lo all, hope the week's been good!

Been progressing on save states, but it's one thing to make the save-states work while the game is running, and another to make it work when you switch it on and off; it seems we're back on the more technical work now, so I think we're going back onto fortnightly updates now to round out the rest of this design work and get the vertical slice of Onna out. - so the next of these updates'll be...I think I might try for Thursday the 2nd of November actually.

And with that update, we'll also be including the winner of this current contest, which in this case is to design a gag for our lovely L-D19 here!

You $10 people will already be familiar, with the rules from the suit contest, but there's a couple of tweaks, so in the interest of all parties I'll lay them out here.

The Process

So here's how this is going to work-

Make a Design

Above I've included a template of L-D19's basic head shape. To enter this contest, you first have to save/take this image, then go into any art software of your choice (paint included) and using a white or black paintbrush, paint a gag design on it!

For now, keep the design mediumly complex; we're not yet in the realm of patterns and textures, this is just 'coverage'. Also, don't worry if it's not the prettiest or you've had to use your mouse or it's not *exactly* symmetrical like you want it to be; I'll be taking the designs and repainting it myself so all of them look standard.

My advice would be to use white to show the coverage of the gag, and black to show what kind of gag you want it to be, whether a ball, or more like a bit, or leave it blank for smoothness - you can also use a third colour to denote how you'd want the gag to be two-tone coloured.

Send me the Design

After you make your design, send it to me over the next 5 days! You can link it in the comments section below here, or Message it to me through Patreon or Discord, or plonk it on The Compound board on the Discord Server. You can only send me one Design between each contest, so pick your best!

Voting Time!

Come Thursday night, I'll post up the selection of Designs for all $10 patrons to vote on!

You'll be able to vote for multiple options here too, so as well as voting for your own, you can vote for others that you fancy as well.

A Winner is Decided!

The poll, once begun, will be open until the next update, and it'll be first-past-the-post. Any of the designs that are not chosen roll over to the next gag contest (which means an ever expanding selection!)

Then I add it to the game, and we do it again!

So yeah, that's how it's going to work.  :)

Its been a tough couple of months working on this designer, but I'm pretty happy that much of the material-work on L-D19 has been concluded, so we'll be moving into doing more art for the thrallopedia, sketches and characterwork for the rest of the year, as well as new scenes and- with a bit of luck- getting one or two of the orientation demo scenes in too!

So yeah, enjoyable prospects, and in the meantime, may the best gag win! :D
