(Bi-)Weekly Report #3
Added 2024-05-21 00:41:58 +0000 UTCOkay. So maybe my life is not interesting enough to regale you all with every detail of a singular week. Maybe a lot of days boil down to "I did the dishes and cleaned up cat barf and scooped a little box." Maybe so. Maybe weekly was ambitious as a declaration.
But bi-weekly isn't, dammit, so here we go!
GAMEDEV
Boy, howdy! Slime Forest has undergone a lot of little adjustments and bugfixes, all in the name of adding one little thing, one simple extra piece of mechanical interest...
THE RAINBOW SLIME

It's the little thing on the bottom left. Rainbow slimes match with each adjacent piece when clicked, effectively letting you start up to four chains at once for the cost of a single turn! They can be really powerful, but a bit difficult to earn - you need 40 slimes in one chain to have one turn into a Rainbow Slime, so you've gotta plan ahead and group things up! If you're clever, though, you can use a Rainbow Slime to make a new Rainbow Slime... or maybe even more than one!! They've proven a very interesting addition to the board and have introduced another layer of interesting decision-making, which is the end goal of just about everything I add to this project.
To help you along, large chains now get an added little bit of text on the score pop-up to help you get a sense for how many slimes 40 even is...

... but you'll still have to master the art of making that final call on your own! Clearly. Oof!
I've also tweaked the energy bar to be a bit easier to read, hopefully, and show a second bar indicating if you've enough energy left to blow a turn without dying over it. Good progress!
Next up, I've finally started working on the first proper slime lady on the side, and I should really probably get started on the audio aspect of this deathly silent affair!
I also finished the GDTV course on 3D Development in GODOT before the deadline where the site hosting was switching over and we'd lose all our progress. I learned a lot! I promise to use it for good! Mostly! Maybe!!
Wow, that's a lot.
COMMISSIONS
Gonna be honest; I slacked a bit on this front. Did a bit of rallying, a lot of gamedev work and lessons, you name it. Not my best showing, though there was a little something...

haha splort
Also there was a mermay Adopt that just sold. There will be another. Maybe a gothy one. That sounds fun.

Anyway, I'll be getting back to work on things on this front over the next couple days. Have a couple rather alluring Artistic Freedom commissions queued up. Have you heard about those? If not, you should give them a look! (And remember, the KTC folks get 15% off on these!)
Present queues look like:
Kazzietimes: 1
Artistic Freedom: 2
Old junk: 10 (I am very bad at moving things that exist beyond the schedule I guess ;u; )
WRITING
The next two chapters of Thralls are (re-)drafted and awaiting my final go-over before I lob them unceremoniously at the lot of you. There's wet naked ladies, elven magic, a cute accent, and some more Lori and Nidrah just for good measure. It's quite eventful, right up to when Lyselle.exe stops responding and needs to shut down. I hope you'll look forward to it!
The writing on Hare Moon has also nearly wrapped up for its present chapter, so we're in the final stretch on that front. How will Fluttershy's weird emotional rollercoaster resolve? Is Angel going through anything in that dumbass head of his?? What will the dawn bring!? All questions with answers! How exciting, hopefully!
ANIMATION
Animation on Shantae continues to hop along quite well! Within the Discord, a pretty sizeable majority of the KTC have voted on the animation receiving a proper ending, so barring a major upset once that poll closes in a couple hours I will finally be animation a juicy, delicious jizz-shooting. Truth told, I have most of the parts to do that already! I will likely export a couple simple looping GIFs for people that prefer that kind of thing of the gal's to main cycles too, because I can!
Is a fresh peak of the progress in order? I think so! But remember, the $5+ tiers can see the whole thing...!

AND THAT ABOUT DOES IT
I've got a couple interviews lined up for accounting work, but barring that I've finally been approved for Oregon's SEA (Self-Employment Assistance)! This means that Ketirz is, for the time being, officially my job, and the state is helping me not be homeless while I work to make that happen! This is equal parts exciting and terrifying. I'll keep doing my best!
I've also been trying to adhere to a somewhat more reasonable sleep schedule, with mixed results. Rewriting Chapter 9 of Thralls kept me up past 4 AM the other night!! It was important!! The girls were having a heart to heart!! Forgive me, sleepiness!! But for the most part I think I'm doing alright.
Thank you for your continued support! Now, back to work!
