C13 AEGIS 1.88 - A step forward every day
Added 2024-07-24 08:33:31 +0000 UTCI've come to accept that C13 AEGIS is essentially a forever project. Which works for me since I really enjoy working on it, and pushing the boundaries of visuals in AC.
So what does the new version bring?
As has become standard it's a game of marginal improvements, that come together to be more than the sum of it's parts. LCS still isn't something to expect in the near future, mostly due to poor content optimisation and fundamental underlying issues that need ironing out before i'm willing to commit the time and resources that a massive rewrite will require. On the plus side, C13 AEGIS with Pure gamma is still where peak visuals live. But what are these aforementioned marginal improvements this time around?
well...
There's a change in the base tone mapping for filmic and filmic + functions that reduces the high gamma look of midtones. This improves color accuracy and affects mid saturation at daytime
Nighttime low end contrast and mid point gamma have been adjusted to provide more pop while maintaining visibility. C13 AEGIS is on the dark end of nights as far as filters go, but you're not going to be doing 200+ kph at nighttime IRL without using high beams either.
Ambient light has been reworked to take cloud cover into consideration. Additionally in some edge cases ambient light could previously blow out ambient linked white objects, such as smoke. A preliminary adjustment has been made, that hopefully makes things like tyre smoke less prone to blowing out.
The custom fog system has seen some modifications that affect sky brightness in "bad" weather types, such as heavy rain, thunderstorm, hurricane, etc.
Some tweaks to the auto exposure logic to improve consistency in certain edge cases.
A new CG LUT has been added. There is an extra slider that allows you to modulate intensity. Because the LUT is in .cube format, it is not embedded into the filter .ini, meaning you can use it in the photo mode app with any filter by selecting it from the dropdown. It's called "C13FilmicLook_Drama". Original, I know.
As always, thank you so much for your support. It makes the work a true pleasure. As you may have seen me hint at, I'm trying to expand into offering the community even more high-quality content. The relationships I've built in this community have given me access to some of the best people in the game, and much like my filter and texture work, we strive for the best. As such the car projects in the works take time and resources to do properly. Patreon pledges make a huge difference in the core ability of these projects to happen, especially since we're talking about free, public releases. So, if you'd like to help make that happen, a sub goes a long way.
I leave you with some preview pics, download post for patrons is coming soon.
Until next time.

2024-08-20 17:54:45 +0000 UTCyou're tier 2, so you can download this. Also, there is a slider to adjust the intensity of the outline effect. Its down at the bottom of the pp tab of pure config. If it's not there, reinstall the filter manually.

2024-08-15 12:53:36 +0000 UTCYo dude I looove ur filter and I became one of your patrons yesterday. Could you please release this soon because it looks much better than the previous versions, thanks for creating the best filter! Also can you add a slider to the comic book filter to adjust the intensity? I find the effect to be a bit too strong but I love the look.

2024-07-24 08:50:51 +0000 UTCHello. Subscribe here to download version 1.88. I doubt it, in the first years of AC 13 I see the game very clear and with little color. Could you help me in case I get the same with this 1.88? thank you
