I don't know if you picked up on it, but Edas curse is actually a metaphor for taking medication and having a chronic illness/mental illness! She has to take her Elixir once a day or her 'curse' will get worse. It's explored more later on but this episode does a really good job of introducing us to it <3 Also, luckily the show creator did know about the cancellation earlier on, so they did get at least some time warning to make sure they didn't miss too many important episode concepts! Nowdays it's unfortunate because Disney actually regrets cancelling the show, but there was nothing they could do about it at that point cause the latter half of season 2 and season 3 were already underway. Also, yes the little nose lady is voiced by the creator of the show! ^^
